Frequently Asked QuestionsWhy a Divorced and Separated Ministry at St. Patrick? So often Catholics who go through a separation or a divorce feel alone and isolated, eve

guilty, in the midst of the turmoil and adjustments they are facing. They mistakenly believe ththe Catholic Church judges them harshly, so at the very time they need the most support, thpull away from the faith community. The program we use, the Catholic’s Divorce Surviv

Guide, helps form us as a community of support, guide us beyond misconceptions, an

address healthy ways of healing and moving forward.

How does the Divorced and Separated Ministry work? The program runs for twelve sessions on Wednesday evenings, beginning November 9 an

continuing through January of the New Year. At the conclusion of these sessions, additionopportunities — small group meetings, special presentations, etc. — will be available to assthose dealing with single parenting, custody and other issues.

What actually happens at these twelve weekly sessions? The program contains a video segment which introduces the theme of each week, followed

approximately one hour of discussion time, typically in small group format. The first sessiofocus on healing by helping each person find his or her own inner balance (mentalemotionally, psychologically, physically, and spiritually). The second set of sessions (5-address the devastating sense of powerlessness so many experience, helping participanmove away from anger, bitterness, and resentment which can keep us mentally, emotionaland spiritually weak. The last sessions (9-12) offer guidance on the kind of love, romance, anpassion that is spiritually healing and whole.

Is there a cost to the program? The program includes a book for each participant, and a contribution of $15.00 helps cov

St. Patrick’s costs in that respect. There is no cost beyond that, although donations are alwa

welcome, and—for those in difficult financial circumstances—partial or full scholarships aavailable upon request. No one is ever excluded for financial reasons.

I have young children and can’t afford to pay a babysitter. Is childcar

available?  Yes, childcare is available but you must register in advance. We regret we do not have t
