MESSAGE FROM THE PASTOR

May the peace of God be with you all. I greet you with the joy and affection as always.

On this Second Sunday of Lent we have heard in the Holy Gospel, known as the Gospel of Transfiguration, what Peter proposes to Jesus: "Lord, how good it would be to stay here! A very exponential expression of jubilee and so many good things that perhaps Peter felt, at that time, after having witnessed the Transfiguration of Jesus before him, James, and John. Peter’s experience makes us reflect, on how many times, in life, we have wanted, desired, that many moments will last forever; maybe a vacation, a party, a meeting between friends, a meeting with a special person, etc. On the spiritual or faith level, we can also have many moments that we would like to last "forever", maybe a Mass, a spiritual retreat, the Eu-charistic Congress, the moment of adoration before the Blessed Sacrament, the reading of a spiritual book, at-tending the preaching of a famous preacher, etc. But just like Peter and the other disciples had to descend from the mountain to face suffering and death with Jesus. The joy of the Transfiguration gave them a strong hope, to face what was coming. So also for us, "those special mo-ments" that we do not want to end, give us the strength and hope to face, with Jesus, the difficult moments that could arise in our lives. Hopefully, we all had the same expression as Peter: "It would be good to stay here"; es-pecially in reference to the things of God, the Mass, the sacraments, a retreat, a class at church, etc. And may this expression lead us to value all the "Good" moments that we fear in life with others.

May God bless you and may the Blessed Virgin Mary take care of us and accompany us today, tomorrow, and forever.

Segundo Domingo de Cuaresma 8 de marzo de 2020 Cristo Jesús . . . destru-yó la muerte y ha hecho brillar la luz de la vida y de la inmortalidad, por medio del Evangelio. — 2 Timoteo 1:10b ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

MENSAJE DEL PARROCO

Que la paz de Dios este con todos ustedes. Los saludo con el

mismo gusto y alegría de siempre.

En este Segundo domingo de Cuaresma hemos escuchado en

el santo Evangelio, conocido como el evangelio de Trasfigura-

ción, que Pedro propone a Jesús: "Señor, ¡qué Bueno sería

quedarnos aquí! Una expresión muy espontánea, de júbilo y

de tantas cosas buenas que quizás sentía Pedro, en ese mo-

mento, después de haber sido testigo de la Transfiguración de

Jesús ante él, Santiago y Juan. Esta experiencia de Pedro nos

hace reflexionar, de cuantas veces, en la vida, hemos querido,

deseado, que muchos momentos duraran para siempre; quizás

unas vacaciones, una fiesta, una reunión entre amigos, un en-

cuentro con una persona especial, etc. Y en el plano espiritual

o de nuestra fe, también podemos tener muchos momentos

que quisiéramos que duraran "para siempre", quizás una Misa,

un retiro espiritual, el Congreso Eucarístico, el momento de

adoración ante el Santísimo, la lectura de un libro espiritual,

asistir a la predicación de un Famoso predicador, etc. Pero al

igual que Pedro y los otros discípulos, tuvieron que descender

de la montaña para afrontar con Jesús el sufrimiento y la

muerte. Pero la alegría de la Transfiguración les dio una fuerte

esperanza, para afrontar lo que se venía. Así también para

nosotros, "esos momentos especiales" que no quisiéramos que

terminaran, nos dan la fuerza y la esperanza para afrontar, con

Jesús, los momentos difíciles que se pudieran presentar en

nuestra vida. Ojala y que todos tuviéramos la misma expresión

de Pedro: "qué Bueno sería quedarnos aquí"; sobre todo lo que

se refiere a las cosas de Dios, la misa, los sacramentos, algún

retiro, alguna clase en la iglesia, etc. Y que esta expresión nos

lleve a valorar todos los momentos "Buenos" que témenos en

la vida con los demás.

Que Dios los bendiga y que la Santísima Virgen María los

cuide y acompañe hoy, mañana y siempre.
