Family Prayer

L oving and faithful God, through the years the people of our archdiocese have appreciated the prayers and love

of Our Lady of Prompt Succor in times of war, disaster, epidemic and illness. We come to you, Father, with Mary our Mother, and ask you to help us in the battle of today against

violence, murder and racism.

We implore you to give us your wisdom that we may build a community founded on the values of Jesus, which gives respect to the

life and dignity of all people.

Bless parents that they may form their chil-dren in faith. Bless and protect our youth that they may be peacemakers of our time. Give consolation to those who have lost loved

ones through violence.

Hear our prayer and give us the perseverance to be a voice for life and human dignity in our

community.

We ask this through Christ our Lord. Our Lady of Prompt Succor, hasten to help

us.

Mother Henriette Delille, pray for us that we

may be a holy family.

Communion In the Breaking of the Bread

1. In the walking on the road, we saw him. In the telling of our hopes, we saw him. In the burning of our hearts,

we saw the Lord. At the meal he took the bread and then he blessed it, broke it, offered it. In the breaking of the bread, We saw him! Suddenly our eyes were opened, and we knew he was alive! 2. We set out to find his friends to tell them. We went to Jerusalem to tell them; and with joy we told them, "We have seen the Lord!" And as we were speaking there, he stood among us, blessed us, said to us, "Now my peace I leave with you." We saw him! Suddenly our eyes were opened, and we knew he was alive! 3. But then we became afraid without him. In the darkened room we stayed without him, wai,ng for the One he said that he would send. Then the Spirit of the Lord came down upon us, filling us, changing us, giving us the strength to say: We saw him! Suddenly our eyes were opened, and we knew he was alive! 4. We ran out into the street to tell them, everyone that we could meet, to tell them, "God has raised him up and we have seen the Lord!" We took bread as he had done and then we blessed it, broke it, offered it. In the breaking of the bread, We saw him! Suddenly our eyes were opened. There within our midst was Jesus, and we knew he was alive!. In the breaking of the bread, He is here with us again,

and we know he is alive! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! By: M. Ward©1986.World Library Publi-ca,ons. All rights reserved. Used by per-mission. License # ALC1102091.

Sending Forth Alleluia! Sing to Jesus

1. Alleluia! Sing to Jesus! is the scepter, his the throne; Alleluia! His the triumph, His the victory alone; Hark! The songs of peaceful Zion Thunder like a mighty flood; Jesus out of ev'ry na,on Has redeemed us by his blood. 2. Alleluia! Not as orphans Are we leG in sorrow now; Alleluia! He is near us, Faith believes, nor ques, ons how: Though the cloud from sight received him, When the forty days were o'er, Shall our hearts forget his promise, 'I am with you evermore'? 3. Alleluia! Bread of Angels, Here on earth our food, our stay! Alleluia! Here the sinful Flee to you from day to day: Intercessor, friend of sinners, Earth's redeemer, plead for me, Where the songs of all the sinless Sweep across the crystal sea. 4. Alleluia! King eternal, You the Lord of lords we own; Alleluia! Born of Mary, Earth your footstool, heav'n your throne: You, within the veil, have entered, Robed in flesh, our great high priest; Here on earth both priest and vic,m In the Eucharis,c feast. By: W. Misa - 7:00 pm Entrada Cristo Resucitó

“Dios es rico en misericordia . . .” Efesios 2:4

April 03, 2016

Divine Mercy Sunday Page 3

Estribillo

¡Aleluya, Cristo resucitó la madrugada del Domingo! (bis) 1.

1. ¿Qué llevabas conversando? Me dijiste, buen amigo.

Licencia # 608353.

Comunión Eres Tú, Jesús

Estribillo

Eres Tú, Jesús, eres Tú. Eres Tú en un trozo de pan y en un poco de vino. 1.

5. 8:30 am Mass Entrance Crown Him with Many Crowns 1. Crown Him with many crowns, The Lamb upon His throne; Hark! how the heavenly anthem drowns All music but its own. Awake, my soul and sing Of Him who set us free, And hail Him as your heav’nly King Through all eternity. 2. Crown Him the Lord of life, Who triumphed o'er the grave, And rose victorious in the strife For those He came to save. His glories now we sing, Who died and rose on high, Who died, eternal life to bring, And lives that death may die. 3. Crown Him the Lord of love, Behold His hands and side, Rich wounds yet visible above

In beauty glorified. No angel in the sky Can fully bear that sight, But downward bends his burning eye At mysteries so bright. 4. Crown Him the Lord of peace, Whose power a scepter sways From pole to pole, that wars may cease, Absorbed in prayer and praise. His reign shall know no end, And round His pierced feet Fair flow’rs of Paradise extend Their fragrance ever sweet. 5. Crown Him the Lord of years, The risen Lord sublime, Creator of the rolling spheres, The Master of all ,me. All hail, Redeemer, hail! For you have died for me; Thy praise and glory shall not fail Throughout eternity. By: G. Elvey; G. Thring; M. Bridges©Public Domain. Used by permission. CCLI License #11201196. Song #23938.

Offertory There's a Wideness in God's Mercy

1. There's a wideness in God's mercy Like the wideness of the sea; There's a kindness in God’s jus,ce, Which is more than liberty. There is plen, ful redemp,on In the blood that has been shed; There is joy for all the members In the sorrows of the Head. 2. There is welcome for the sinner, And a promised grace made good; There is mercy with the Savior; There is healing in Christ’s blood. There is grace enough for thousands Of new worlds as great as this; There is room for fresh crea, ons In that upper home of bliss. Refrain

So be merciful, just as our God is merciful. Be merciful, just as our God is merciful to us.

Let there be a wideness in our mercy. Let there be a kindness in our hearts. Oh, may our lives be merciful. 3. For the love of God is broader Than the measures of the mind; And the heart of the Eternal Is most wonderfully kind. If our love were but more simple, We would know the living word; And our lives would be thanksgiving In the kindness of our Lord. 4. There's a wideness in God's mercy Like the wideness of the sea; There's a kindness in God’s jus,ce, Which is more than liberty. There is plen, ful redemp,on In the blood that has been shed; There is joy for all the members in the sorrows of the Head. By: E. Bolduc©2015. World Library Publi-ca,ons. All rights reserved. Communion Behold the Lamb of God

1. You are my Lord. It’s you I adore. Nothing on earth could ever take your place. Your might humbles ev’ry heart; the highest of heavens bow. Nothing on earth could ever take your place. And now we see your sacrifice, the greatest giG, our greatest prize. Refrain

Behold the Lamb of God! Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. 2. We will not forget, we will stay awake! We will not abandon the promise that you made. We will not forget, we will stay awake! We will not abandon the promise that you made.

Vacation Bible School

Early registration for Vacation Bible School has begun. This year, the Camp will now be available for children in grades K-6th, and it is taking place the weeks of

June 27-July 1st.

VBS is a summer camp program that includes daily scripture review and activities about how God plays a role in our lives. Volunteers are needed from any par-ent or teenager (9th-12th grade) as well as college stu-dents and young adults. We are also inviting 7th-8th

graders to be junior volunteers for VBS as well.

Anyone who is interested in either attending VBS as a camper or volunteering, you may either print out the appropriate form from the website, or sign up in the back of Church after Mass and bring the forms back to Church or when Elementary Catechesis, EDGE, or Lifeteen meet. You may also contact: Jacques De-louche at [email protected] or Ryan Foulon at [email protected] for questions. Thank you very much and hope to see many of you on

this thrilling experience. God Bless You.

Early Registration Catechesis Sign-Ups

Early Registration for Elementary Catechesis (Grades K-5th) in the 2016-2017 school year has begun. Elemen-tary Catechesis will be meeting Tuesday nights from 6:30-7:45, starting around late August. The schedule for the upcoming school year will be sent around June, as well as posted on the Parish website and e-mailed. Families who sign up before the end of the school year will greatly benefit.

Forms to sign up are in the back of the Church and will also be handed out at Catechesis. You may bring the form when you drop your child off at Catechesis, mail out the form, bring the form back to the Church. For any questions or comments, please contact Jacques De-louche by calling the Parish office or e-mailing him at

[email protected]

Thank you very much and we look forward to sharing

this journey together.

Divine Mercy Parish Page 10

On this Divine Mercy Sunday, it is appro-priate that the Gospel (John 20:19-31) is the story of Thomas putting his hands in Jesus’ wounds. The wound in Jesus’ side allows us to receive His Divine Mer-cy and love. Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI said, “This is love in its most radical form. By contemplating the pierced side of Christ, we can understand the start-ing-point of his Encyclical Letter: “God is love” (1 John 4:8). At Life Teen and Edge, we increase our love for one an-other and for Jesus Christ. Come and join us!

Act of Spiritual Communion My Jesus, I believe that You are in the Blessed Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I long for You in my soul. Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. As though You have already come, I embrace You and unite myself en-tirely to You; never permit me to be separated from You.
