Presented by the Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception
Join us as we celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Fatima
Visit TheDivineMercy.org/ewtnfor more information about today’s celebration
Dear Pilgrims in Christ,
On behalf of the Marians of the Immaculate Conception, I welcome you to the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy. Duringthis year, we celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Our Lady of Fatima. In1917, the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to three simple children inFatima, Portugal. Her call was one of prayer, reparation, and devo-tion to the Eucharist. She emphasized praying the Rosary for peace.
Our Lady’s message is still relevant for today. The Church experienced more martyrsin the 20th century than all other centuries combined. Our Lady showed the children thisvision in the third secret. The blood of the martyrs is the seed for the new springtime ofDivine Mercy. The message of Divine Mercy will help bring forth the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
This year is also the 50th Anniversary of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal. We pray thatthe Holy Spirit will reenkindle the flame of love and mercy in our hearts. May His power trans-form us into living images of Divine Mercy especially for the poor and needy of this world.
We welcome our main celebrant this year, Bishop Edward Scharfenberger, from the diocese of Albany, NY, our neighboring diocese. We are honored to have him celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday with us.
Thank you for making a pilgrimage to the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy.May both the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Holy Spirit lead us ever new into the heart
of Divine Mercy.
Sincerely yours in Christ and Mary,
Fr. Anthony Gramlich, MIC Rector, National Shrine of The Divine Mercy

SATURDAY, APRIL 22 (DAY 9) DIVINE MERCY NOVENA“Today bring to Me SOULS WHO HAVE BECOME LUKEWARM, and immerse them inthe abyss of My mercy. These souls wound My Heart most painfully. My soul suffered themost dreadful loathing in the Garden of Olives because of lukewarm souls. They were thereason I cried out: ‘Father, take this cup away from Me, if it be Your will.’ For them the lasthope of salvation is to run to My mercy.”
Most Compassionate Jesus,You are Compassion Itself. I bring lukewarm souls intothe abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart. In this fire of Your pure love let thesetepid souls, who, like corpses, filled You with such deep loathing, be once again setaflame. O Most Compassionate Jesus, exercise the omnipotence of Your mercy anddraw them into the very ardor of Your love, and bestow upon them the gift of holylove, for nothing is beyond Your power. Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze uponlukewarm souls who are nonetheless enfolded in the Most Compassionate Heart ofJesus. Father of Mercy, I beg You by the bitter Passion of Your Son and by His three-hour agony on the Cross: let them, too, glorify the abyss of Your mercy. Amen.
SUNDAY, APRIL 23 (DAY 1) DIVINE MERCY NOVENA“Today bring to Me ALL MANKIND, ESPECIALLY ALL SINNERS, and immerse them inthe ocean of My mercy. In this way you will console Me in the bitter grief into which theloss of souls plunges Me.”
Most Merciful Jesus, whose very nature it is to have compassion on us and to forgive us, do not look upon our sins but upon our trust which we place in Yourinfinite goodness. Receive us all into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart, and never let us escape from It. We beg this of You by Your love which unites Youto the Father and the Holy Spirit. Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon allmankind and especially upon poor sinners, all enfolded in the Most CompassionateHeart of Jesus. For the sake of His sorrowful Passion show us Your mercy, that wemay praise the omnipotence of Your mercy forever and ever. Amen.
PRAYER FOR THE HOUR OF GREAT MERCY
You expired Jesus, but the source of life gushed forth for souls and the ocean of mercy openedup for the whole world. O Fount of Life, unfathomable Divine Mercy, envelop the wholeworld and empty Yourself out upon us (Diary of Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska, 1319).O Blood and Water which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus, as a fount of mercyfor us, I trust in You (3 times) (Diary, 84).

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion ofsaints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
On the Our Father beads:
V. Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Yourdearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ,
R. in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.
On the Hail Mary beads:V. For the sake of His sorrowful Passion,R. Have mercy on us and on the whole world.

(3 times) (Diary, 476)Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us, that in difficult moments we mightnot despair nor become despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves toYour holy will, which is Love and Mercy itself. Amen (Diary, 950).

BLESSING OF RELIGIOUS ARTICLES AND HOLY WATERRECESSIONAL HYMNO God, Beyond All Praising
O God, beyond all praising/ We worship You todayAnd sing the love amazing/ That songs cannot repay; For we can only wonder/ At every gift You send,At blessings without number/ And mercies without end;We lift our hearts before/ You And wait upon Your word,We honor and adore You/ Our great and mighty Lord.
The flow’r of earthly splendor/ In time must surely die,Its fragile bloom surrender/ to You, the Lord most high; But hidden from all nature/ Th’eternal seed is sown,Though small in mortal stature/ To heaven’s garden grown; For Christ the man from heaven/ From death has set us free,And we through Him are given/ The final victory.
Then hear, O gracious Savior/ Accept the love we bring,That we who know your favor/ May serve You as our King; And whether our tomorrows/ Be filled with good or ill,We’ll triumph through our sorrows/ And rise to bless You still; To marvel at Your beauty/ And glory in Your ways,And make a joyful duty/ Our sacrifice of praise.
