STATE TIMES NEWS VIJAYPUR: National Conference Vijaypuron Thursday called for setting up of AIIMSat its identified site, saying delay in thisregard is highly deplorable.
Talking to reporters, the local party leaderstook exception to irresponsible statementmade by some lower rung Congress func-tionaries by way of spreading canards againstthe National Conference on the issue ofAIIMS in Samba District. They said suchmalicious uttering were highly condemnableas these are baseless.
They said that National Conference wantsthis premier facility to be set up in the dis-trict, keeping in view the centrality of theplace and feasibility. "We view accusations ofsome self-seeking political activists seriouslyand deplore the false statements being made
against our party", they said, hoping thatCongress high command at the State-levelwill take note of such misadventure by itslower rung functionaries, as these have poten-tial of vitiating the atmosphere. They refutedthe allegations made by the Congress func-tionaries.
The National Conference leaders said thatthe party has been espousing the cause of allsegments of society and wants every region,sub region and area to get equal opportunitiesof progress and development.

STATE TIMES NEWS RAJOURI: DeputyCommissioner, Dr. ShahidIqbal Choudhary, onThursday conducted surpriseinspection of Tehsil Officeand scrutinised records of dif-ferent sections.
Detailed inspection wasconducted in different sec-tions involved in issuance ofrevenue extracts, voter lists,PRCs, character certificate,income certificate, relief casesand other important servicesrelated to land and revenue.
A number of lapses werenoticed during the 2-hourlong inspection and con-cerned officials were repri-manded. A target of oneweek was set for improvingwork culture and instillingtransparency in the workingsystem. Officials were direct-ed for prompt service deliv-ery. Tehsildar Rajouri wasdirected to make immediatedisbursement of Rs. 25 Lakhrental compensation infavour of land owners, holddaily camp for one hour toissue certificates to students,take immediate action forinhibiting people found act-ing as agents for processing
certificates and take actionagainst such elements.
Later, the DeputyCommissioner accompaniedby Executive Engineer PWD,S. A. Wani, Tehsildar, SalamDin Chouhan, EO MCRajouri, Manzoor Lone andfield staff of revenue andPWD inspected the approachroad from main road toDistrict Court complex.Plans for expansion/wideningof road and removal of bottle-necks were discussed at dif-ferent spots.
Dr. Shahid issued directionsto both revenue and PWDofficers for submission of pro-posal for widening of road in
two day's time for enablingthe process to be started forimproving the road to doublelane specification. The widen-ing of road will be taken up incurrent financial year alongwith resurfacing.
Officers were also directedfor formulation of estimatesand plan for development ofcourt complex and infrastruc-ture for bar association prem-ises inside the court complex.
Departments were alsodirected for immediate startof work on approach roadfrom Court Complex Chowk,to Hamilton Bridge for pro-viding alternate connectivityto the town.

Political par-ties only misguided them inname of religion and Article35A issue and never tried to
sort out the problems beingfaced by the people of hillyareas", regretted Mankotia.

STATE TIMES NEWS BHADARWAH: In view ofupcoming Eid festival, a teamof officials from Tehsil admin-istration on Thursday con-ducted market checking in
different parts of Bhadarwahtown and directed shopkeep-ers and vendors to sell goodsas per rate list.
The initiative was aimed tocheck the overcharging and
quality related issues of vari-ous items sold by the shopsand to remove the encroach-ments from footpaths andpavements causing inconven-ience to the pedestrians andalso obstruction in the freeflow of traffic.
The team led by TehsildarBhadarwah Masood Ahmedalong with Naib TehsildarNazir Ahmed Vachko, TSOand officials of MunicipalCommittee checked the ratelist of the shopkeepers andalso destroyed rotten fruitsand vegetables on the spot.
The inspection team alsodirected the shopkeepers andRehriwallas not to encroachthe roads and footpaths as aresult of which the daily com-muters face lot of problemsbeside causing massive trafficjams in the town.
During the checking, morethan a dozen offenders werefined and 1,500 kg of rottenvegetables and fruits wasdestroyed on the spot.

In order to contain profi-teering, blackmarkettingand hoarding besides ensur-ing the quality of fooditems, fruits and vegeta-bles, the joint team heldmarket checking in themain town including Gujjar
Mandi, Malik Market andother adjoining markets.
A huge quantity of adul-terated food items, rottenfruits and vegetables, andexpired packs of juices andmilk were destroyed by theteam and rupees five thou-sand was realised from thedefaulters.
The team also inspectedvarious chicken and meatestablishments in the townand instructed the con-cerned to strictly adhere tothe laid down food safetystandards besides display-ing the rate lists on theirshops. Similar instructionswere given to shopkeepersand vegetables/fruit ven-dors. Meanwhile marketchecking was also heldacross all Tehsils of the dis-tricts by teams headed byconcerned Tehsildar.

STATE TIMES NEWS BHADARWAH: Increasingcases of man-animal dconflictin Chenab Valley spread fearamong the residents after aforest guard was injured byleopard in Bhalla area of dis-trict Doda on Thursday.
According to reports, a forestguard identified as JaswantSingh son of Mool RajResident of village Kuthyara ofTehsil Bhalla, posted at ForestCheck Post Pranoo, on way tohis duty when passing througha forest area was attacked by aleapord.
According to police, whenleopard attacked the forestemployee, he managed to raisean alarm, due to which vil-
lagers came out of their housesfor his rescue. When contactedIncharge Police Post Bhalla, SISunil Parihar said that thebadly injured forest guard wasimmediately rushed to DistrictHospital Doda,where afterfirst aid,he was shifted to GMCJammu for further treatmentas his condition is said to becritical.
"We have already informedthe Wild Life Departmentabout the presence of leopardand are hopeful to tame thebeast soon," Parihar added.
Meanwhile local residentshave protested against allegedlack of measures by the WildLife Department to curb casesof man-animal conflict.

STATE TIMES NEWS BHADARWAH: Police on Wednesday solvedthe mini bus burning case after one month byarresting four suspects from Gadsoo localityof Doda this afternoon.
According to reports, on July 30, a mini buswhich was parked on roadside on Doda-Bhadarwah road was found turned into ashesafter it caught fire under mysterious circum-stances during night hours.
SDPO Bhadarwah, Brijesh Sharma saidthat on intervening night of 29/30 July 2017,a matador bearing registration number JK06-8649 was set afire by some miscreants afterthe driver Imran parked the vehicle on theroad side at village Drena in Tehsil Bhalla. Awritten complaint against some unknown per-sons was lodged by owner of the vehicle TahirHussain son of Zakir Hussain resident ofMasri Pranoo at Police Station Bhadarwah.
"After lodging FIR No. 86/2017 UnderSection 435 RPC at Police StationBhadarwah and during investigation some
suspects were rounded up and call detailrecords and tower locations were corroboratedand finally four suspects were arrested,"SDPO added. "The accused admitted thefact that they planned a criminal conspiracywith Firdous Ahmed son of Ghulam Hussanresident of Nagri, Doda. Further during theinvestigation it has also been surfaced thatthere was some old enmity between the partiesduring the matador union elections for thepost of president and the accused party want-ed to take revenge with the owner of the vehi-cle (Tahir)," the officer said.
The arrested accused have been identifiedas Ashfaq Ahmed Son of Ghulam Rasool,Nishad Ahmed Son of Mohd Hussain, Ashiqand Liaqat Ali both sons of Mohd Iqbal, allresidents of Gadsoo, Doda.
The investigation was conducted byIncharge Police Post Bhalla, S.I Sunil Pariharunder the supervision of SDPO BhaderwahBrijesh Sharma. The local people have appre-ciated the role of police.
