STATE TIMES NEWS VIJAYPUR: National Conference Vijaypur on Thursday called for setting up of AIIMS at its identified site, saying delay in this regard is highly deplorable. Talking to reporters, the local party leaders took exception to irresponsible statement made by some lower rung Congress func- tionaries by way of spreading canards against the National Conference on the issue of AIIMS in Samba District. They said such malicious uttering were highly condemnable as these are baseless. They said that National Conference wants this premier facility to be set up in the dis- trict, keeping in view the centrality of the place and feasibility. "We view accusations of some self-seeking political activists seriously and deplore the false statements being made against our party", they said, hoping that Congress high command at the State-level will take note of such misadventure by its lower rung functionaries, as these have poten- tial of vitiating the atmosphere. Friday September 1, 2017 4 DISTRICTS STATE TIMES NEWS RAJOURI: Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, on Thursday conducted surprise inspection of Tehsil Office and scrutinised records of dif- ferent sections. Detailed inspection was conducted in different sec- tions involved in issuance of revenue extracts, voter lists, PRCs, character certificate, income certificate, relief cases and other important services related to land and revenue. A number of lapses were noticed during the 2-hour long inspection and con- cerned officials were repri- manded. A target of one week was set for improving work culture and instilling transparency in the working system. Officials were direct- ed for prompt service deliv- ery. Tehsildar Rajouri was directed to make immediate disbursement of Rs. 25 Lakh rental compensation in favour of land owners, hold daily camp for one hour to issue certificates to students, take immediate action for inhibiting people found act- ing as agents for processing certificates and take action against such elements. Later, the Deputy Commissioner accompanied by Executive Engineer PWD, S. A. Wani, Tehsildar, Salam Din Chouhan, EO MC Rajouri, Manzoor Lone and field staff of revenue and PWD inspected the approach road from main road to District Court complex. Plans for expansion/widening of road and removal of bottle- necks were discussed at dif- ferent spots. Dr. Shahid issued directions to both revenue and PWD officers for submission of pro- posal for widening of road in two day's time for enabling the process to be started for improving the road to double lane specification. The widen- ing of road will be taken up in current financial year along with resurfacing. Officers were also directed for formulation of estimates and plan for development of court complex and infrastruc- ture for bar association prem- ises inside the court complex. Departments were also directed for immediate start of work on approach road from Court Complex Chowk, to Hamilton Bridge for pro- viding alternate connectivity to the town. The initiative was aimed to check the overcharging and quality related issues of vari- ous items sold by the shops and to remove the encroach- ments from footpaths and pavements causing inconven- ience to the pedestrians and also obstruction in the free flow of traffic. The team led by Tehsildar Bhadarwah Masood Ahmed along with Naib Tehsildar Nazir Ahmed Vachko, TSO and officials of Municipal Committee checked the rate list of the shopkeepers and also destroyed rotten fruits and vegetables on the spot. In order to contain profi- teering, blackmarketting and hoarding besides ensur- ing the quality of food items, fruits and vegeta- bles, the joint team held market checking in the main town including Gujjar Mandi, Malik Market and other adjoining markets. A huge quantity of adul- terated food items, rotten fruits and vegetables, and expired packs of juices and milk were destroyed by the team and rupees five thou- sand was realised from the defaulters. STATE TIMES NEWS RAJOURI: Minister for Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries, Abdul Gani Kohli along with Member Parliament, Jugal Kishore Sharma on Thursday laid foundation stone of Brevi to Kotekabu Road in Kalakote Constituency of Rajouri District. The road taken up at an estimated cost of Rs 2.81 crore under PMGSY was a long pending demand of locals and is expecting to benefit thousands of daily commuters who faced lot of inconvenience in daily commuting. The minister directed the executing agency to ensure timely completion of the road project so that masses are facilitated. They also asked them to ensure judicious use of funds. According to reports, a forest guard identified as Jaswant Singh son of Mool Raj Resident of village Kuthyara of Tehsil Bhalla, posted at Forest Check Post Pranoo, on way to his duty when passing through a forest area was attacked by a leapord. According to police, when leopard attacked the forest employee, he managed to raise an alarm, due to which vil- lagers came out of their houses for his rescue. When contacted Incharge Police Post Bhalla, SI Sunil Parihar said that the badly injured forest guard was immediately rushed to District Hospital Doda,where after first aid,he was shifted to GMC Jammu for further treatment as his condition is said to be critical. "We have already informed the Wild Life Department about the presence of leopard and are hopeful to tame the beast soon," Parihar added. According to reports, on July 30, a mini bus which was parked on roadside on Doda- Bhadarwah road was found turned into ashes after it caught fire under mysterious circum- stances during night hours. SDPO Bhadarwah, Brijesh Sharma said that on intervening night of 29/30 July 2017, a matador bearing registration number JK06- 8649 was set afire by some miscreants after the driver Imran parked the vehicle on the road side at village Drena in Tehsil Bhalla. A written complaint against some unknown per- sons was lodged by owner of the vehicle Tahir Hussain son of Zakir Hussain resident of Masri Pranoo at Police Station Bhadarwah. "After lodging FIR No. 86/2017 Under Section 435 RPC at Police Station Bhadarwah and during investigation some suspects were rounded up and call detail records and tower locations were corroborated and finally four suspects were arrested," SDPO added. "The accused admitted the fact that they planned a criminal conspiracy with Firdous Ahmed son of Ghulam Hussan resident of Nagri, Doda. Further during the investigation it has also been surfaced that there was some old enmity between the parties during the matador union elections for the post of president and the accused party want- ed to take revenge with the owner of the vehi- cle (Tahir)," the officer said. The arrested accused have been identified as Ashfaq Ahmed Son of Ghulam Rasool, Nishad Ahmed Son of Mohd Hussain, Ashiq and Liaqat Ali both sons of Mohd Iqbal, all residents of Gadsoo, Doda. The investigation was conducted by Incharge Police Post Bhalla, S.I Sunil Parihar under the supervision of SDPO Bhaderwah Brijesh Sharma. The local people have appre- ciated the role of police. According to reports, a forestguard identified as JaswantSingh son of Mool RajResident of village Kuthyara ofTehsil Bhalla, posted at ForestCheck Post Pranoo, on way tohis duty when passing througha forest area was attacked by aleapord.

According to police, whenleopard attacked the forestemployee, he managed to raisean alarm, due to which vil-

lagers came out of their housesfor his rescue. When contactedIncharge Police Post Bhalla, SISunil Parihar said that thebadly injured forest guard wasimmediately rushed to DistrictHospital Doda,where afterfirst aid,he was shifted to GMCJammu for further treatmentas his condition is said to becritical.

"We have already informedthe Wild Life Departmentabout the presence of leopardand are hopeful to tame thebeast soon," Parihar added.

STATE TIMES NEWS BHADARWAH: Police on Wednesday solvedthe mini bus burning case after one month byarresting four suspects from Gadsoo localityof Doda this afternoon.

According to reports, on July 30, a mini buswhich was parked on roadside on Doda-Bhadarwah road was found turned into ashesafter it caught fire under mysterious circum-stances during night hours.

SDPO Bhadarwah, Brijesh Sharma saidthat on intervening night of 29/30 July 2017,a matador bearing registration number JK06-8649 was set afire by some miscreants afterthe driver Imran parked the vehicle on theroad side at village Drena in Tehsil Bhalla. Awritten complaint against some unknown per-sons was lodged by owner of the vehicle TahirHussain son of Zakir Hussain resident ofMasri Pranoo at Police Station Bhadarwah.

"After lodging FIR No. 86/2017 UnderSection 435 RPC at Police StationBhadarwah and during investigation some

suspects were rounded up and call detailrecords and tower locations were corroboratedand finally four suspects were arrested,"SDPO added. "The accused admitted thefact that they planned a criminal conspiracywith Firdous Ahmed son of Ghulam Hussanresident of Nagri, Doda. Further during theinvestigation it has also been surfaced thatthere was some old enmity between the partiesduring the matador union elections for thepost of president and the accused party want-ed to take revenge with the owner of the vehi-cle (Tahir)," the officer said.

The arrested accused have been identifiedas Ashfaq Ahmed Son of Ghulam Rasool,Nishad Ahmed Son of Mohd Hussain, Ashiqand Liaqat Ali both sons of Mohd Iqbal, allresidents of Gadsoo, Doda.

The investigation was conducted byIncharge Police Post Bhalla, S.I Sunil Pariharunder the supervision of SDPO BhaderwahBrijesh Sharma. The local people have appre-ciated the role of police.
