Hello Key Club Members and Advisors in the Rocky Mountain District, The Kiwanis International Foundation and Key Club International have designed a scholarship program to recognize Key Club members who have excelled in leadership and have provided service to others. Financial need is not a factor in this award. Each winner will receive a one-time US$1,000 award. The Rocky Mountain District is eligible to award one (1) of these scholarships this year based on the amount of clubs participating in the Annual Club Gift Campaign with the Kiwanis International Foundation. Who Is Qualified for the Kiwanis International Foundation/District Matching Scholarship Program? A Key Club Member who: o has been an active Key Club member for two years in good standing. o has paid dues and appears on the roster on file at Key Club International. o is a graduating high school senior o is a college-, university-, technical-, or vocational school-bound student. o has a gradeBpoint average of at least a AB@ average or the equivalent of a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. o has attached an official high school transcript with an explanation of the grading system utilized. o submits the application to the Key Club district administrator by the deadline established by the district. For further information, contact the administrator. Here is the procedure that will be followed for the 2013 Kiwanis International Foundation District Matching Scholarship. This is a one-time $1000 scholarship. The form we will use is at the end of this document. You will need to include the following with your application: 1) Completed application filling in sections Key Club Offices & Leadership Events; Campus Organizations and Activities, Religious & Community Activities, and Honors, Awards & Special Recognition. (Additional sheets may be attached if not enough room is provided on the application.) 2) Two recommendation letters as described in the application. 3) A certified copy of your official high school transcript. 4) An essay of no more than 500 words detailing the Key Club service project you participated in that has had the greatest impact on you. Applications must be in the hands of the District Administrator no later than 7:00 PM, April 5, 2013.
