Distribution of our Main Task

• A media institution is an organization, that deal in the creation and distribution of advertising, entertainment and information services. There are many different institutions such as channel 4, Warner Bros Pictures, 20th Century Fox and Walt Disney. We believe channel 4 being a British media institution they would be the ideal institution to distribute our product. It would be a good idea if our product was to be distributed internationally because the stereotypes shown in our opening scene is stereotype which occur in schools all over the world. It would be distributed via the internet because it would be easy for the audience to get hold of and it would be cheaper to distribute.

Our audience

• As our two main characters are both teenagers who attend 6th form our primary audience will be teenagers as they will be able to relate to the characters as they also went through the process of going to a new school. Fantasy romance movies are the new ‘hit’ with todays generation, but we decided to go against this and use the ‘kitchen sink’ theory to produce a realism in our opening scene. Using our audience feed back most of them said they liked shows like “2 Broke Girls” or “American Pie” which both have a sense of realism in the movies – so creating an opening scene that was realistic would attract our target audience. Adults could be our secondary audience as they tend to say “this generation”, our opening scene would enable them to see things from a teenagers perspective…maybe changing their view?

Attract the audience

• We will attract our target audience by using mise-en-scene to attract them to our two main character for instance what they are wearing. Our school ‘diva’ would be dressed in trendy clothes to make it clear to the audience that she is the diva. Whereas the ‘rebel’ of the school would be wearing punky black clothes to connote that she is the outcast and different from everyone else. Some teenagers would be able to relate to Lacy and Billie, making them enjoy it so then they can see how they are portrayed. In our audience feedback the audience was saying that they would like to be able to relate to our characters. This influenced our two characters and the way that they are seen to the audience.

Technology used• We are using a camcorder to produce our

opening scene and iMovies on the Macs to edit it. Over the time of our project our teams production and editing skills have improved by working as a team and all sharing our knowledge.
