DOUGLASCOUNTY
Douglasville
STATE OF GEORGIAJob Tax Credits: Douglas County is a Tier 3 county; therefore, companies are able to receive a $1,750 job tax credit for creation of 15 full-time jobs in a calendar year. These credits can be taken for five years and carried over for ten years.
Quality Jobs Tax Credit: Companies may receive (QJTC) if, during a 24-month period, they create and maintain at least 50 net new jobs that pay at least 110 percent of the county’s average wage. The QJTC value ranges from $2,500 to $5,000 per job, per year, for up to five years.
Quick Start Employee Training: As No. 1 workforce training program in the country, Quick Start develops and delivers fully customizable, strategic workforce solutions for qualified companies investing in Georgia. Services are provided free of charge as a discretionary incentive for job creation.
Freeport: Douglas County provides 100% inventory tax exemptions (“Freeport”) for raw materials and goods in process, finished goods held by manufactures, and finished goods held for out-of-state shipments.
DOUGLAS COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITYBond Financing Douglas County offers taxable and tax-exempt bond financing on projects resulting in below-market rates for numerous proj-ects. Through this process the DCEcDA takes title to the personal and/or real property. This is an economical avenue for financing a project tied to the local property tax incentive.
Temporary Office Space Prior to fully locating, the Development Authority will offer 300 square feet of fully furnished office space in Downtown Douglasville, with conference room, Internet, and phone ac-cess.
Permitting Douglas County offers one-stop expedited permitting to all development projects, significantly reducing start-up time and costs.
Workforce Solutions Along with local, regional and state partners, DCECDA will identify training opportunities and tools to meet your work-force demands to include Work Force Investment Funds, training credits, screening services and more.
Local Tax Incentive New or expanding business and industries locating in Douglas County may be eligible for local ad valorem tax incentive. To qualify, a business or industry is awarded points based on the criteria. A minimum of 3 points is required to be considered for the plan, with a maximum of 50 potential points. A plans are five or ten years long with varying schedules
