Wikipedia says...
Waggle dance is a term used in beekeeping and ethology for a particular figure-eight dance of the honey bee. By performing this dance, successful foragers can share with their hive mates information about the direction and distance to patches of flowers yielding nectar and pollen, to water sources, or to new housing locations.
Concept - Objectives
• Connection from outside to inside of museum• To educate the “inside complexity” of Berrocal
art.• Crowdsourced interest -- Find the best spots
to place Berrocal sculpture in different places, based on people’s interests.
• Show the results, involve people, make it famous
Process
• Inside the museum – People’s interest – Sculpture at their region.
• Analyse data, carry the “Famous Gnome” Experiment.
• Experiment – A manual visit to the spot, installation of temporary sculpture.
Temporary Sculpture
• Shows the inside – inexpensive material – “wired skeleton” with transparent sheet bound over each part.
• Shows the inside – may be shows the inside only digitally - the part which is painted by the “magical paint brush”
• Combination of both• Prints the unique pattern – a memento and a
ticket to the museum
Inside the museum
• Visualization of unique patterns people have “painted” on the sculpture with “magical brush”
• May be, interactive with visitors actions ---decompose sculpture part, reveal the “corresponding crowd-sourced patterns”
• Data collecting if people want this experimentation or the sculpture at their region.
