Bethesda Online Degree Program Overview

1. Bachelor of Arts in Religion Program (Total: 126 Hours)

1) Biblical Studies: Biblical Studies is a scholarly presentation of the witness to faith and of the theological views of the biblical writers in the context of the covenant people, Israel, and the early Church. Courses deal with background and history, ethics and doctrines, and with proper methods of interpretation

General Education: 45 hrs Bible/ Theology: 51 hrs Professional Studies: 30 hrs

2) Pastoral Ministry: Pastoral Ministry is designed to provide students with professional, academic, practical evangelism, discipleship, and pastoral ministry skills needed pastoral ministry.


3) Missions: Missions is designed to develop cross-cultural bridges to world evangelism, develop a passion for missions, and establish effective mission strategies.


4) Christian Education: Christian Education is designed to equip students to serve local churches and parachurch agencies through teaching and discipling people of various ages.


2. Master of Arts in Biblical Studies Program (Total: 60 Hours)

The Master of Arts (M.A.) degree is a two-year professional degree that focuses upon advanced studies in the Word of God. This program is ideally suited to persons who seek greater biblical and theological knowledge, but who do not desire to become pastors. Additionally, pastors who are already established in ministry and have earned a bachelor’s degree in religion may desire the M.A. for further study and recognition.

3. Master of Divinity Program (Total: 96 Hours)

The Master of Divinity degree is the three-year program that is considered the “first professional ministerial degree. The program offers a balance in biblical, theological, and practical training and is carefully designed to equip prospective ministers for effective pastoral or ministry.
