    Disney Trip Sheet

    March 11-16, 2015

    Students should drop off luggage in the ensemble room Wednesday morning where the chaperones will check luggage and leave it in the band room for pickup.

    All luggage must be labeled and left unlocked for inspection Day packs and small purses may be carried throughout the day and will be inspected as they

    go on the bus.

    Eat dinner and use the restroom prior to getting on the bus.

    Itinerary

    9:00 a.m. Auxilaration begins/ Epcot opens

    11:30 a.m. Auxilaration ends on your own lunch/dinner in the park 5:00 p.m. meet buses to change/get concert

    band instruments. Percussion only needs sticks and mallets.

    5:30 p.m. All meet at Italy Pavilion for Youre Instrumental workshop. No friends and family.

    Marching Band Performance in Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade

    We will be performing as a marching band. Make sure you have lyre and flip folder, marching band instrument and uniform, and fall guard will perform as guard with fall uniforms. We will be using trombones for this performance, so trombone players should memorize Superman or use a trombone lyre and flip folder. Tubas need concert instrument and sousaphone. Bass clarinets need neck strap. Percussion should make sure their battery instrument is on the trailer. The performance is on Friday, March 13 at 2:30 p.m. on Main Street in the Magic Kingdom. We will meet at the Golden Oak Outpost in Frontierland at 1:00 p.m. between Pirates of the Carribean and Splash Mountain and change into uniforms after that. Buses meet at 12:30 p.m. at the Park 3 Security Gate, located off Floridian Way. Only essential personnel will be backstage; families and friends stay in the park. One chaperone will stay back with any performers who cannot perform. If all students are able to perform, this chaperone goes with us. Review flag safety requirements. No cell phones or cameras with performers or chaperones. No bags or personal items can be carried. Teachers men: dress shoes, slacks, dress shirt, jacket, and tie; women comfortable dress shoes, slacks/skirt, dress skirt, or business dress. VEHICLE ARRIVAL 12:30 PM Bus - 3 Your vehicle(s) are to arrive to the Magic Kingdom PARK 3 security gate, located off FLORIDIAN WAY. Meet at 8:45 a.m. at Italy pavilion near Costuming and Auditions building. Bergman, Arata will attend. Because this is a teaching workshop, have other activities planned for friends and family while it's in session. Wear comfortable rehearsal black attire. Equipment provided. Buses arrive at 8:45 AM at the Costuming and Auditions building, located on Sherberth Road off Osceola Parkway. You will be met in the buildings circular drive.

    Youre Instrumental

    This Concert Band workshop will include everyone and will be held on Saturday, March 14 at 6:00 p.m. in the "Studio A" rehearsal room located in a "backstage" area of Epcot. Buses will arrive at 5:00 PM at the Center 1 security gate for Epcot on Overpass Road and we will change into polo/khaki and get concert band instruments. We will meet at 5:30 PM in Epcot outside of the Italy Showcase. The group will gather in the area by the Gelato Kiosk and the "La Gemma Elegante" shop. Because this is a teaching workshop, have other activities planned for friends and family while it's in session. Percussionists are to provide their own concert sticks and mallets.

    Park Groups

    Students will remain with a group at all times in the park. The group will be recorded with the teachers and will check in with chaperones at assigned times and locations. Students will not leave the park. Missed reporting times may result in school detention or other disciplinary consequences. Rooms

    There will be no one in any room other than their own. If you want to hang out with anyone, it will have to be outside your rooms. Overnight Travel Permission Form This is a Rockwood form that we have on file from your band handbook. If there are any medical or other changes, please fill out the form again with the new information.

    Security

  • Uniformed security will be in our hallways before lights out and overnight. Students should not be in the hallways during this time except for medical emergencies.

    Appropriate wear for Florida temperature and Disney park fun! Current predictions call for highs in the mid-70s and lows in the mid-60s. DVDs to be approved by director Phone/Camera & Chargers Clean socks & underwear Baby wipes Wisps tiny disposable toothbrushes with a dab of toothpaste built in Money for two fast-food meals and souvenirs ($50-$75 at parents discretion) sunscreen rain poncho what if it rains? *Dont bring it if you cant afford to lose it!

    Clothes to bring Polo/khaki for performance Marching band uniform Guard rehearsal black Swimsuits - Parents are asked to be involved and to use discretion on the selection of swimsuits on the trip for appropriateness for a school trip. Gender-based chaperones may have to ask students to leave the pool area if a swimsuit is considered by the school staff to be inappropriate for a school-sponsored event. Students will be expected to comply with such a request.
