Age Discrimination.

The ADEA (Age discrimination in employment Act) prevents age discrimination against individual who

are over the age of 40.

It is unlawful under this law to favor an older employee over a younger one.

This law also prohibits discrimination when it comes to hire, firing, salary, and benefits.

Disability Discrimination.

Individual is treated unequally because of a physical or mental impairment

The law requires an employer to provide reasonable accommodation to employees with disabilities

American with Disability Act of 1990 is protecting individuals with disabilities from being discriminated

in the workplace.

Equal pay discrimination.

The equal pay act of 1963 protects employees from discrimination

the employer must pay them equally.

All types of compensations are covered under this law, including salary, allowances, benefits,

bonuses, stocks, insurance and etc.

National origin.

Treating an individual or a group unfavorable because they are from particular country

The law of immigration reforms and control act of 1986

Law forbids to make offensive remarks against a specific ethnic, nation or origin.

Treating some one less favorable or unequal because of his personal gender.

Relation with particular group of certain sex.

Forbids harassment against individual because they are of a particular sex or gender.

Religion.

Treated unequal or unfavorable because he practices particular religion or belief.

favor a particular religion in the aspect of employment.

Law requires employer to make reasonable accommodation for employee’s religious beliefs.

Religious occasions and the dress employee desire to wear due to his or her religious beliefs.

Race and color discrimination.

The civil rights act of 1964 prohibits to treat people differently because of their color or race.

Favoring a particular race or people of specific color is unlawful at workplace.

Harassing a particular person because he is of different race or color is illegal.

Pregnancy Discrimination.

Pregnancy discrimination Act 1978 requires employers to treat pregnancy just like any other

medical condition with regard to fringe benefits and leave policies.

An employer is also required to provide reasonable accommodation to pregnant women.

Under the family medical leave act 1993 a parent is eligible for 12 weeks leave.

Under genetic information Nondiscrimination Act of 2008 it is require for companies with 15 or

more employees not to use genetic information.

Genetic information includes information about an individual’s genetic test or the test about

genetics of his family
