Las Vegas’s Discovery Children’s Museum, Lied Discovery Children’s Museum was founded as a private, nonprofit educational institution in 1984. The new museum was opened in March 2013 in the Donald W. Reynolds Discovery Center adjacent to The Smith Center in Symphony Park.

Museum

The new museum is three stories tall 58,000 square foot building. It has nine themed exhibition halls totaling 26,000 square feet of interactive hands on core exhibits. The 5,000 square foot Featured Exhibitions Gallery offers visitors extraordinary learning experiences.

The SummitThe Summit is a 70-foot tower that encompasses 2,200 square feet and ascends all three floors of the museum and pinches through the roof. Featuring interactive science exhibits as well as sliding and climbing structures, the Summit is an experience that is both intellectually as well as physically engaging for visitors.

Fantasy FestivalThis gallery combines a life size ship, castle and stage to inspire new heights of creative play, dramatic exploration and collaboration

There are different themed exhibitions.

In Water Word you will work with water in a variety of hands on ways like launching balls into winding tracks, guiding boats through a lock system, fitting together plastic pipe to redirect flow, feeding a vortex or using air blowers to create currents.
