PRACTICAL WORK
EXPERIENCE
PROFESSIONAL
DEVELOPMENT
450 days of practical work experience
• Accumulate at least 450 days, which normally
takes three to five years
- Practical work experience is undertaking real-life work
of a financial, business and/or commercial nature
- Excluding exam days, holidays, courses, illness
and office administration
- One working day is seven hours
• Complete as part of a training agreement
• On-the-job training that puts your learning into practice
Ethics and professional scepticism
It’s about learning ICAEW’s ethical principles and
identifying ethical dilemmas, understanding their
implications and behaving appropriately.
You will develop ethical capabilities in three ways:
