2016 March NewsletterTRANSCRIPT
Dear Church Family,
How many people do you know who do exactly what they say every single time and do it with such thoroughness and perfection that you never have to worry about anything they say or do? Most of us probably think we know some people who do exactly what they say. That is, we all know some reliable people who seem very dependable to us. The only person you know who can meet every qualification is God himself. He alone is 100% faithful 100% of the time.
God’s faithfulness means that because he is the truth, everything he says and does is certain. That
means he is 100% reliable 100% of the time. He does not fail, forget, falter, change or disappoint.
Consider the following facts about God’s faithfulness:
1. His word is eternal. “Your word, O LORD, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens” (Psalm 119:89).
2. God is as faithful today as he was yesterday. “Your faithfulness continues through all generations” (Psalm 119:90).
3. He is reliable in all his works. “The works of his hands are faithful and just” (Psalm 111:7).
4. He is faithful even when we are not. “If we are faithless, he will remain faithful” (2 Timothy 2:13).
5. Our salvation depends on God’s faithfulness. “Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus (Philippians 1:6).
6. Our sanctification depends on his faithfulness. “The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it” (1 Thessalonians 5:24).
7. Our future resurrection depends on God’s faithfulness. “We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him” (1 Thessalonians 4:14).
All that God does rests on his faithfulness and every blessing we receive comes because he is faithful to keep his promises to us. If God were not faithful, we could not be saved, would not dare to pray, would have no sure hope for the future, and would go down to death in desperate fear wondering if God will keep his promises. But we live in faith and die in hope precisely because our
God is faithful.
I am glad that we serve a faithful God who loves us. My hope and prayer is that we, as His people, would be found faithful to Him in these days. It is easy to become distracted and lose our focus in
this fast-paced world. Let’s focus upon what is important, not what is urgent.
In Christ’s love,
Bro. DarrolBro. DarrolBro. DarrolBro. Darrol

Hello Church Family!
Thank you so much for your continued giving to our February/March fundraiser, 100 Envelopes! So far, with the gifts that you have graciously given, we have raised over $1500.00! It never ceases to amaze me how generous many of you are when it comes to our students; and so, on behalf of the student ministry, thank you!
Also, if you have yet to donate to the youth summer camp fund, you still have time! 100 Envelopes will be on display all the way until March 30
th. Remember, all you have to do is to simply find an envelope with the dollar amount you wish to give, (ex. #20=$20.00 pledge, #37=$37.00 pledge and so on), place your gift in the envelope, deposit it into the O2 Mailbox. Don’t wait too long though - the smaller number envelopes may be taken! ;-)
We have a few events coming up in March that we at the student ministry are particularly excited about. On March 25th (Good Friday) we will be hosting a youth Spring Lock-In at the Smith Building from 7PM-
7AM. While we will be having a lot of fun with the teenagers, we will also use this as an oppor tunity to share the gospel and the importance of Good Friday with many students who may not normally attend Wednesday or Sunday services. Please be in prayer for our students and leaders for this event! Also, if you would like to help (you don’t have to be there all night!), or if you know a student who would like to attend, please contact me at the church office for more info. The cost is $10.00 per student.
In closing, as Easter approaches, let these words of the apostle Paul be a reminder to us:
“Therefore, we were buried with Him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised
from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we too may walk in a new way of life. For if we have been
joined to with Him in the likeness of His death, we will certainly also be in the likeness of His
resurrection.” –Romans 6:5-6
While Easter is primarily a celebration of Jesus’s resurrection, do not forget that it is also His resurrection alone that ensures to us the promise of our own redemption. It is only because we serve a risen Savior that we will be joined in the likeness of His resurrection ourselves one day. Let this thought guide your preparation for Easter, so that we may celebrate all the more joyfully in the resurrection of our eternal Savior.
Keep fishing, Bro. Brian
