1. Cut 9 inch squares (or any size desired) from two contrasting fabrics

2. Place one on top of the other, right sides together, and stitch a 1/4 seam around all four sides. Cut across both diagonals.

3. Press open the four half-square triangles.

4. Place as shown to form a pinwheel. Stitch the blocks together. Square the block to 11 .

5. Cut into 9 3 squares, as shown

6. Arrange as desired and stitch together. Here are a few of the possible block arrangements. The finished block will measure 9 square.
