Welcome to the third issue of Mather Lifestyle, the monthly newsletter!
Heartfelt greetings to all the readers, well-wishers and most importantly our customers! It’s been our pleasure to note that the earlier two issues of Mather Lifestyle were well received. We thank you all for the positive feedback, suggestions and thoughts shared by the readers, well-wishers and customers alike.
As communicated earlier, the new professional management at Mather Projects has spent last two and half months since taking over on 1st July, 2012 in assessing, evaluating and monitoring the various ongoing projects of Mather and preparing time bound project completion timelines for each project both for handover of apartments for interior works and final handover of the entire project. We have prepared committed dates for each project after careful evaluation of the project progress vetted by independent third party Project Management Consultancies and based on the financing arrangements tied up for the same. The committed dates for both handover of apartments for interior works and project handover are enclosed in a separate box below. We seek your support in meeting these dates through timely payments of your installments.
We are extremely happy to inform you that India’s leading Housing Finance Institution HDFC has completed a thorough evaluation of Mather Projects including finances and project progress and approved a comprehensive debt facility of Rs. 30.00 crores, one of the largest debt facilities approved by HDFC in Kerala. HDFC has also permitted Mather Projects to advertise that all Mather Projects are financed by HDFC. We thank the management of HDFC for the support, backing and most importantly the confidence HDFC has reposed in Mather Projects and its new professional management team. These funds and additional funds being brought in by the promoters will be used to ensure that the projects are completed and handed over as per the timelines committed below.
Mather Projects participated in the CREDAI property Show in Cochin held on 3rd, 4th and 5th of August, 2012. We received warm response at the Show. We are also happy to inform you that Mather Projects would be participating in the upcoming event, “CREDAI Kerala Property Show” to be held in Dubai on the 28th and 29th of September, 2012 at Hotel JW Marriot, Deira, Dubai. We look forward to meeting you all to discuss more about our new project launches and updates of the existing ones.

The Government of Kerala recently organized “Emerging Kerala Global Connect 2012 from 12th to 14th September, 2012. The event was huge success with 142 business-to-government proposals, 413 expressions of interest received at the B2B meetings, delegates from 52 countries and 4,676 participants in the event. These proposals are expected to change Cochin and Kerala into a hub of fast paced economic activity making your apartment in Cochin a valuable asset in the years to come.

Rs.40,000 crore, including Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd’s Kochi Refinery expansion and another joint venture project of Rs.18,000 crore; Volkswagen’s engine assembly unit (Rs.2,000 crore); hospital and pre-cast concrete structure manufacturing unit (Rs.570 crore); and solar energy plant (Rs.500 crore), he told the gathering.
The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) had already announced the setting up of a Centre of Excellence in Entrepreneurship in the State. During the meet, 43 business proposals were discussed between different departments of the State and companies from the U.K., the U.S., Japan, and Canada. A total of 4,676
participants registered for the meet, out of which 2,512 were business delegates, and 2,183 delegates benefitted from business-to-business and business-to-government meetings, he said.
The State government had earlier announced setting up of the Kerala State Investment Board to speed up clearance for proposals. Necessary amendments would be made to the single-window clearance Act, including making the application process online.
The State government was committed to creating an atmosphere where academically proficient youth would not hesitate becoming entrepreneurs. The Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (Kinfra) would create one lakh sq ft built-up space in 16 months for incubators and complete the first phase of 25,000 sq ft by May 2013. This would make the StartUp Village the world’s largest telecom incubator, he said. The State government would further strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem by creating Technology Innovation Zone on about 10 acres in Kochi at an initial investment of Rs.100 crore.
Emerging Kerala sets new goals for State
The Emerging Kerala 2012 meet ended on a high note with Chief Minister Oommen Chandy indicating in clear terms the goals set for the State in years to come. In his presidential address at the valedictory session of the meet here on Friday, Mr. Chandy sounded very positive about the outcome of the meet.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh hoped that Kochi would evolve as “a very important economic and logistical hub” of the country.
Speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Kochi metro rail project at Ernakulam Marine Drive on Thursday, Mr. Singh said that the city had emerged as one of the most important ports of the county with the International Container Transshipment Terminal at Vallarpadam becoming operational.
The Central government has sanctioned six projects for Kochi under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission with a total cost
of over Rs. 509 crore. The central share for these projects would be more than Rs. 254 crore. The Urban development Ministry has sanctioned 200 low floor buses for Kochi.
Mr. Singh pointed out that the transport infrastructure of the city was “under severe stress, with the demand for travel rising steeply in recent years. The Metro would provide Kochi with a modern mass transport system, making it convenient for the residents to commute and also facilitating Kochi’s overall social and economic development,” he said.

Rakesh is a post graduate in Business Administration from Rajagiri School of Management and joined Mather as a Management Trainee. He has served in various departments like Sales, Project Coordination and Planning. In 2009, he took charge of Home Care Division.
