Preteach: Use words/pictures from Memory Game (pictures below) to pre teach shops and things youwould find there.

Preteach direction words: over, through, next , beside, go down, go across etc

Preteach colour words (get students to colour in the street names on the map)

How to prepare:

Print out Pages 1 & 2 on green paper, 3 & 4 on yellow and 5 & 6 (above) on blue paper.

Laminate (if you want to keep for a resource) and cut through lines.

Print, cut out and laminate spinner (above). Poke a match stick or similar through centre to spin on.

Print map (A3 if possible) and Laminate or give each student their own map to colour, write on etc.

Print out memory Game picture below, lamintate and cut out.

How to play:

Students spin top and choose a card from matching colour questions.

If they land on double colours then they have a choice or which colour question they prefer or they cananswer both you make up the rules!

Give a token or score for different colour questions ie 1: blue, 2: green, 3: yellow.

Memory game: place picture side down, students turn over 2 cards and match the word with the pictu
