    General Information

    The DIR-300NRU de&ice is a wireless router with a built-in +-port switch. It pro&ides a fast andsimple wa" to create a wireless and wired networ at home or in an office.

    ,ou are able to connect the wireless router DIR-300NRU to a cable or D modem or to a pri&ate/thernet line and use a high-speed Internet connection to successfull" fulfill a wide range of

    professional tas s. The built-in +-port switch enables "ou to connect /thernet-enabled computers!game consoles! and other de&ices to "our networ .

    Using the DIR-300NRU de&ice! "ou are able to *uic l" create a wireless networ at home or in"our office! which lets "our relati&es or emplo"ees connect to "our wireless networ &irtuall"

    Before You Begin

    (lease! read this manual prior to installing the de&ice. 4a e sure that "ou ha&e all the necessar"information and e*uipment.

    Operating "ystem

    )onfiguration of the wireless router DIR-300NRU with a built-in +-port switch $hereinafter referredto as Mthe routerL% is performed &ia the built-in web-based interface. The web-based interface isa&ailable from an" operating s"stem that supports a web browser.

    The following web browsers are recommended5 6indows Internet /xplorer! 4o8illa Airefox! orOpera.

    Aor successful operation! Pa&a cript should be enabled on the web browser. 4a e sure thatPa&a cript has not been disabled b" other software $such as &irus protection or web user securit"

    6ireless wor stations from "our networ should be e*uipped with a wireless 01.22b! g! or n NI)$6i-Ai adapter%. In addition! "ou should specif" the &alues of ID! channel number and securit"settings defined in the web-based interface of the router for all these wireless wor stations.

    3. )onnect the power cord to the power connector port on the bac panel of the router! then plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet or power strip.

    +. Turn on "our () and wait until "our operating s"stem is completel" loaded.

    Right after the first access to the web-based interface "ou are forwarded to the page for changingthe administrator password specified b" default.

    /nter a new password in the ass*ord and Con>irmation fields $"ou ma" use digits! atinletters $uppercase and7or lowercase%! and characters a&ailable on the e"board%! then clic the avelin .

    Remember or write down the new password for the administrator account. In case of losingthe new password! "ou can access the settings of the router onl" after restoring the factor"default settings &ia the hardware R)")T1W " button. This procedure wipes out allsettings that "ou ha&e configured for "our router.
