Applicators, Printers & Ribbons

Dion Label Printing sells semi-automated and fully-automated labeling equipment. We will perform an on-site survey and provide a proposal for equipment guaranteed to perform. Dion is a top northeast distributor of CTM Labeling System; a brand with a rock-solid reputation for designing and building equipment of the highest quality, durability, and ease of use!

The 360A Label Applicator (pictured left) may be used in a semi-automatic stand-alone fashion. It integrates with your product handling system and serves as the hub of many CTM-built automated systems which include product handling and custom components. Many options and accessories can be installed in the field utilizing a “plug and play” design concept which allows users to modify their applicators as needs change.

The 3600a-PA Printer Applicator is a versatile, high-speed, thermal transfer labeler used to print and apply pressure sensitive labels to various products. A Sato, Zebra or Datamax print engine is integrated into an applicator to form a self-contained unit to print variable data. Can be assembled with right or left hand Sato, Zebra or Datamax printer modules.

The new 360aFFS is designed for most form, fill and seal applications along with those applications that allow for a limited amount of space for the labeler. Adjustable snorkel adjusts the applicator’s labeling point from 18” to 30” and stepper drive motor will dispense up to 1500 inches per minute.

SATO printers are perfect for barcoding (UPC), lot verification, and numbering needs. Dion offers a large variety of inexpensive direct thermal and thermal transfer SATO printers ranging in width and speed so you can print custom designed labels the day you need them. The money you spend having your label manufacturer print your UPC codes could be saved by doing it yourself!

The CL4NX (pictured left) and CL6NX are Sato’s most reliable high performance industrial thermal printers. Sato’s CLNX Series are built for durability and designed for exceptional operator ease of use. Available accessories can make the CLNX series a complete in-house labeling solution.

Digital printing reduces waste tremendously. Setup waste is nearly 250-500 ft. per color setup on a flexographic press. On the digital press, it’s merely 0-80 ft. to setup all colors.Dion offers water soluble adhesives which allow labels to be washed off their containers, so the recycling process for containers is much simpler.Water-based, solvent-free inks are used in most conventional printing operations.Dion offers a variety of eco-friendly material ranging from various levels of post-consumer paper, “tree-free” paper, and biodegradable films.Dion offers bulk shipping for those customers who are willing to mix items within their shipping containers, allowing us to cut back on boxes and shipping paper.Reporting is mostly done utilizing PDF documents, rather than printing reports daily.Digital stock is coated using 100% renewable energy, including wind power.To maintain health and safety internally, Dion has a safety committee.Energy-efficient lighting is located throughout the entire building.A productivity management board (made up of Dion employees representing all departments) oversees company processes and implements methods to reduce waste, increase efficiency and promote sustainability.

Dion Label Printing is GMI Certified for CVS Brands

Westfield, MA (February 7, 2018) – Dion Label Printing is proud to announce that we have received full

certification from Graphic Measures International, Ltd. (GMI) to print digital extended color gamut and

flexographic labels and packaging components for the CVS brand. GMI has partnered with CVS to ensure

consistent brand appearance by establishing detailed requirements and monitoring each aspect of print

quality and color management.

Dion was the first printer in the country to be awarded GMI certification for both digital and flexographic

label printing. We partnered with GMI in 2014 to become a certified print provider for the Walgreens brand.

Dion has maintained the highest GMI rating of blue in both the digital and flexographic categories since

certification. Dion Label Printing is the only GMI blue-rated label printer in the USA which sets us apart as a

fully certified and high performance, print packaging supplier. These standards will now be applied and

verified for the CVS brand through the GMI monitoring guidelines.

GMI controls and monitors global color consistency for many brands including CVS and Walgreens. The

certification agreement ensures color standards are measured and recorded throughout the label printing

process. Press sheets are then submitted to GMI for compliance assessment. Retail shelves are also spot

checked by GMI to ensure visual uniformity.

Dion Label Printing is a Part 11 and Annex 11 Compliant Printer

Westfield, MA (March 20, 2017) - Dion Label Printing is proud to be registered with the FDA and

compliant with both FDA 21 CFR Part 11 and EU Annex 11.

Part 11 was established in 1997 by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to regulate security of

electronic records. The law was established for pharmaceutical, medical, and similar FDA-regulated

biotech companies. As a label printer for those industries, Dion Label Printing was required to complete

the process to be a compliant printer and provide guaranteed secure printing.

EU Annex 11 was established by the European Union in 1992. It details the steps needed to maintain

Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in relation to electronic records and systems. GMP helps maintain

quality control over items produced to confirm quality is maintained. Annex 11 and Part 11 compliance

are both critical when supplying pharmaceutical and medical customers.

of our FDA-regulated customers. As a printer, Dion understands it is now our responsibility to maintain

compliance with Part 11 and GMP to meet the needs of our customers as they grow into larger markets.

Co-owner John Dion commented, “As the FDA ramps up enforcement under 21 CFR Part 11, our

compliance (and also with EU Annex 11) will provide select customers greater confidence in computer

software, system and records security at Dion Label as required under the rules. Although the process is

initially time-consuming, maintenance of our status will have minimal effect on the cost of product

manufactured accordingly.”
