    Diocesan Prayer Diary January 2020

    1st – Wednesday – Naming & Circumcision of Jesus

PRAYER FOR THE NEW YEAR: Almighty God, we stand on the brink of a new year not knowing what will transpire. Some of us will surely know the joy of new life, while others of us will only know too well the pain of losing a loved one. Tragedy might strike like a thief in the night, or our cups might overflow in the most unexpected of places. But in the midst of it all, grant to us your grace and love. Strengthen us when we are weak. Stand beside us when we are lonely. Lord Jesus, Heal us when we are sick. Encourage us when we are depressed. Hold on to us when we cannot stand. Comfort us when we mourn; and, bring us back when we drift away. Above all, through the power of your Spirit, help us to mature in our faith. Open our minds to the wisdom of your Word. Open our hearts to the love of your Son. Open our souls to the reality of everlasting life. This we ask in Jesus Name. Amen.
