Parish of San Pablo & San Pedro

Christmas Celebration

& Creche

On December 21 our Parish celebrated Christmas, with Bishop Michele

presiding.

After the Eucharist, Mercedes & Paola, teachers at the CAIF ´´Los

Granjeritos´´ (day-care center), organized a Creche with some of the

children from the center. This activity has been organized before but with

a more ecumenical emphasis and on this occasion, it was a joint venture

of Promoción Humana & the Church.

A lovely Christmas dinner, which took place on December 18, with the

Young folk at Posada de Belén – invited guests: Bishop Michele & Vilma,

Fr Enrique and myself.

As each candle was lit at the table, wishes were made and after that, a

round of applauses, laughter and a delicious meal served by Raquel, the

cook.

On December 8th, a new day-center (CAIF) ´´Los Cerrillos´´ was inaugurated.

There was a strong presence of the community and families and neighbours came

to celebrate and enjoy the event, together with those who made this wonderful

Project posible – which has been serving about 84 families every day, for over a

year.

Those present at the opening ceremony were the Mayor of Canelones, Yamandú

Orsi, the CAIF Director, Victoria Vega and INAU representatives, as well as Bishop

Michele Pollesel – who spoke and emphasized the importance of projects such as

this, which aim at strengthening early childhood care, providing first-class

educational resources with a large team of professionals, in order to meet this

goal.

The traditional cutting of the inaugural tape was carried out by family members,

users of the CAIF and following that, participants were invited to tour the center's

facilities and see the various options which are offered.

The finishing touch to this event was the releasing of balloons by the children

and thereafter, all were invited to sample the delicacies prepared by our chef.

The Anglican Church of Uruguay and our mission to be God´s instrument in the midst of our society; our clergy and their families and the workers at each Project and their families.

For each person who draws near to a Parish / Mission / Project … May we be open to welcome every one of them …

For the sick, the lonely, homeless, those who haven’t sufficient food…

We also pray for those who are unemployed, those going through transitions, and those facing difficult decisions . . .
