Research – This is a detailed study of a topic in order to discover new information.
LO: To know about dinosaurs
Steps to SuccessI can research about dinosaurs with the help of an adult.I can write a mind map about simple facts on dinosaurs.I can write a mind map about interesting facts on dinosaurs.
Big Reptile
Dinosaurs are a diverse group of reptiles that lived on land for over 140 million years ago.
What is a Time Period A time period
describes a time in history.
Stone age- 1.2 million-3300BC
Bronze age- 3300-1200BC
Iron age- 1200- 200BC
Not all dinosaurs lived at the same
time! There were 3 main time periods.
Your Task!Work with an adult at home to research more amazing facts about the age of the dinosaurs.
Create a mind map about the facts from your research!

What Is a Dinosaur?
Dinosaurs were one of several kinds of prehistoric reptiles that lived millions of years ago, before people.
We cannot be sure how the dinosaurs sounded, how they behaved, or what colour and pattern they were. Scientists use fossils (bones in stones) to get some ideas!
There were no cameras or videos that far in the past!
Fun Facts
Some walked on two legs
and some on four. Some
could do both
Some were speedy
and some were slow
and lumbering.
Some were armour plated,
some had horns, crests,
spikes or frills to defend
themselves.
Some had thick, bumpy
skin. Some even had
feathers.
Remember, not all dinosaurs lived at the same time. Today we are
going to learn a little more about
the 3 main periods of time when dinosaurs were on Earth!
