Dinner at the Dismas House

Informational Pamphlet about Prisoners

Reducing the Stigma that those who have been incarcerated face daily when they get out of prison

Importance

1. Reducing the Stigma on those who have been incarcerated

2. Educate people about the struggles that those who have been in prison face when they try assimilate back into society

3. Empower those who are living and working in Rutland through dinners at the Dismas House

4. Spread the volunteer opportunities to the GMC and Poultney Community

We created awareness of: volunteer opportunities and issues with stigmas and incarcerated people

We met and interacted with those who suffer from the stigma and those who help those with the stigma

This project effected the greater community through education and making a difference in the lives of those we met and interacted with at the Dismas House

The greater community also donated some of the food including Cerridwen Farm and The Station – Also SAGE Residents helped cook the dinner

What Worked & What Didn’t Work

The Brochure Volunteering at the DismasHouse : A great way to make new friends, create ties in the greater community

Dismas House Monthly Meal Program with GMC

Publish an Interview in the Mountaineer

Connect with other groups on campus, Slow Food etc.
