Эскимос Чукагнак с Аляски, с далеких Алеутских островов, родился около двухсот лет тому назад. Он принял святое крещение и стал Петром. Господь уготовал Петру особую участь: он — первый православный мученик на Аляске. С особой радостью представляем нашу книгу. Она посвящена жизни и мученической смерти американского православного святого Петра Алеутского. Эту книгу, отчасти похожую на комикс, мы начали писать, опираясь на скудные данные, известные о святом Петре. Он был крещён русскими с Аляски в начале XIX века, занимался торговлей мехом (как и все эскимосы того времени), попал в плен к испанцам во время плавания со своими товарищами к русскому поселению Форт-Росс на севере от Сан-Франциско. В 1815 году святой Пётр принял мученическую смерть от католических миссионеров, которые принуждали его отказаться от православной веры. Этот рассказ с иллюстрациями, безусловно, не является точной биографией святого, скорее это попытка иконографически изобразить Петра Алеутского на фоне исторических событий его родной земли. Текст и иллюстрации ненаучны, так что мы просим вашего понимания, в том числе и в отношении фольклорных особенностей приложения.

Și visa precum și Sfântul acela că într-o zi ar voi să plece, întocmai precum și Sfântul a făcut, cu o corabie ce repede călătorește. Și de vreme ce a trecut peste mări întinse să arunce ancora corabiei în ultimul port al lumii și în primul port al cerului, care nu este altul decât Sfântul Munte.

Cea dintâi carte a mea , Din cetatea lui Eu în cetatea lui Tu, mi-a oferit adeseori ocazia să mă regăsesc alături de copii. Astfel am putut constata că ei au îndrăgit aşa de mult pe eroii cărţii, încât mi-au cerut şi continuarea ei. Acest gând m-a însoţit ani în şir, dar între timp experienţe noi m-au condus la scrierea altor povestiri.Cartea părintelui Paisie Patimi şi virtuţi, împreună cu o altă carte de Dumnezeu inspirată Scara Sfântului Ioan Sinaitul mi-au stârnit în cele din urmă dorinţa de a continua povestea Cetăţii lui Tu. Scara a fost scrisă pentru a ajuta pe monahi să câştige Raiul. Mi-am adus aminte de asemenea că părintele Paisie zicea: „Poruncile sunt aceleaşi şi pentru mireni şi pentru monahi, căci unul este şi Raiul!”. Astfel am decis să îmbin înţelepciunea şi sfaturile cuprinse în cele două cărţi, alcătuind o scară a virtuţilor pe care să urce copiii din epoca noastră modernă. Ţinta vieţii noastre duhovniceşti de altfel nu este numai să găsim Cetatea lui Tu, ci să ne luptăm cu toată dăruirea ca să ne biruim patimile şi toate slăbiciunile noastre, valorificându-ne darurile cu care ne-a înzestrat Dumnezeu pe toţi. Numai astfel vom putea ajunge în Cetatea Cerească.

Postface de mère Hypandia, higoumène du monastère de Solan, éditions Monte Cristo, 2012, 154 p.Ce petit livre est destiné par sa forme et son contenu aux enfants et aux adolescents, mais peut être lu avec plaisir et profit par les adultes. Il s’agit d’un roman initiatique plein de fraîcheur et de profondeur spirituelle. Il est fondé, dit le sous-titre, sur les enseignements spirituels du père Païssios l’Athonite, mais on y retrouve, l’enseignement classique des Pères concernant la vie spirituelle sous une forme symbolique et parabolique qui le rend à la fois accessible et attrayant même pour des non-initiés. Les personnages portent des noms de passions (Arrogant, Présomptueux, Orgueilleux, Vaniteuse, Vantarde…) et de vertus (Généreux, Patient, Discernement, Bonté, Humilité…).
