The SMTCO is a tool of cooperation

between authorities charged to organize the transports

The missions of the SMTCO:

• Coordinate transport services organized by different AOTs, which are the “Syndicat”

members, for the purpose of intermodal transport.

• Set up the internet site supported by a central reservation multimodal information system

for transportation services on demand and for the Car Share.

• Promote the creation of a coordinated pricing and single or unified tickets.

• Provide financial support to the implementation by its members of new Public Transport

services or to improve the existing services.

• Develop a partnership with the neighboring departments and STIF in public transport.

• He can abolish administrative borders to coordinate different transport networks on a

sufficiently large territory (the department)

• Promote the intermodality (combined train / car / bus)

The « conditions » which made possible the ITS at the geographically

scale of the OISE Department Governance: • The political volunteer for cooperate independently of politic tendency of the

mayors

• The acceptance of the necessity to work together to improve the transport system

effectively

• The establishment of a more adapted legal framework to regulate the transport

systems exploitation

• The exigence of minimum levels of transport services in order to provide efficient

mobility possibilities to all socio-economical segments of the population
