Digital Storytelling Storyboard Each box represents one slide in your digital story. Describe in as much detail as possible what will be included for each slide. The more you

plan ahead, the easier it is to create your digital story.

1. Scene

Images (general or specific, location if known):

The story is situated in in Slovenia in a dark and scary cave underneath the ground. At the beginning, we see the

entrance of the cave. We meet our two characters, one boy and one girl. The girl character is a Bulgarian girl named

Ivanka. She is wearing a traditional Bulgarian dress. The boy character is a Viking from Norway named Ole. The two

characters meet and have a short dialogue. They enter the cave.

Design (background color, font style, special effects): The background is a picture of a cave. The characters fade out.

Audio (music, sound effects): At the beginning there will be heroic and happy music.

Narration (the actual text that you would record to accompany this slide):

“Trouble in the cave” appears.

Ole: Hello, I'm Ole, a Viking from Norway!

Ivanka: Hi, I'm Ivanka, from Bulgaria!

Ole: Let's go into that cave!

Ivanka: But I am scared :(

Ole: Don't worry! I have been in caves many times!

2. Scene

Images (general or specific, location if known):We are inside the cave with Ivanka and Ole. It is a dark and scary cave.

Design (background color, font style, special effects): A bat flies in. The background is a picture of the inside of the

cave.

Audio (music, sound effects): Ivanka is singing. When the boy is scared away by bats, we apply horror music.

Ivanka: It's really not so scary.

Ole: I told you so! Try singing with the echo, it's really fun!

Ivanka: Okay, here we go: Laaaa, Laaa laaaaaa...

Ole: Waaaa, bats! Run!

Ivanka: Wait, Ole!

3. Scene

We are in a new hole in the cave. We see Ole running through a door, and the door closes behind him. There are 2

locks on the door.

Design (background color, font style, special effects): The bat appears again. We see the number of keys on top of the

screen.

Audio (music, sound effects): Scary music.

Narration (the actual text that you would record to accompany this slide):

Ivanka: No, Ole, don't go in there! Oh no, I have to help him!

Bat: I didn't mean to scare you, but your friend ran before I could warn you not to enter. Now he has entered the lair of

the ghoul. In order to unlock this door, you have to complete 2 tasks, You will get a key for each task.

Ivanka: Look, a sign. I will save Ole.

Bat: Ole is trapped behind this door. You have to complete two tasks to rescue him. The door has two locks that you

have to unlock. You receive one key for each task. Follow me to the next hole for the first task!

4. Scene

Images (general or specific, location if known): We are in a new hole in the cave. The bat is in the corner of the screen.

There is a fireplace, some skeleton bones and a scale on the ground. A skeleton appears. The number of keys are shown

at the top of the screen.

Design (background color, font style, special effects): The background is the new hole in the cave.

Audio (music, sound effects): Ghost sound, fire place sound.

Narration (the actual text that you would record to accompany this slide):

Skeleton: You will receive the first key, when the bones are balanced.

Ivanka: Good job! Follow me to the next hole for the next task.

5. Scene

Images (general or specific, location if known): We are in a new hole in the cave. The bat is in the corner of the screen.

The number of keys is shown at the top of the screen. Ivanka is standing in front of a door. A ghost comes out of the

wall. There are ropes on each side of the door with geometric figures on them. There is a sign behind the ropes saying

“Arrange the figures so both sides are equal”.

Design (background color, font style, special effects): The background is the new hole in the cave. There are torches on

the wall and metal material on the door. A ghost comes out of the wall.

Audio (music, sound effects): Scary, ghost music.

Narration (the actual text that you would record to accompany this slide):

Ghost: Uuuhuu. To receive the last key you must complete this task. Arrange the geometric figures so both sides are

equal to each other.

Bat: Good job! Follow me to the next cave to rescue Ole.

6. Scene

Images: We are in a new hole in the cave. The bat is in the corner of the screen. A ghoul appears. We see the door Ole

is trapped behind. The key holes on the door have a picture above them. The first key hole has a picture of a skeleton.

The second key hole has a picture of a ghost.

Design (background color, font style, special effects): The background is the same hole in the cave as in the 3. Scene.

There are spider webs and chains in the corners.

Audio (music, sound effects): Scary music.

Ghoul: Use your keys to unlock the door!

Ivanka: Now I can unlock the door and save Ole.

7. Scene

Images (general or specific, location if known): We see a close-up of the door opening. Ole is behind the door. He is

smiling. Ole gives Ivanka his Viking helmet. They have a short dialogue.

Design (background color, font style, special effects): The background is the door, and the room behind the door.

Audio (music, sound effects): Happy music. A sound when the door opens.

Narration (the actual text that you would record to accompany this slide):

Ole: You saved me! Thank you!

Ivanka: No problem.

Ole: Here, I’ll give you my Viking helmet as a gift.

8. Scene

Images (general or specific, location if known): Ole and Ivanka are walking together out of the cave. Ivanka is wearing

the Viking helmet.
