The Falcons are currently riding a three-game win-ning streak, which including two victories over teams near the top of the NACC standings. They have been dominating during those three wins and CUWFalcons.com took a look at the numbers to pos-sibly answer the question: Can the Falcons contend for the NACC title?

REBOUNDING CAN CHANGE THE GAME- During the Falcons recent three-game winning streak they have grabbed 51 more rebounds than the opposition, which includes a commanding 46-21 advantage in offensive rebounds.- Brianna Wagner, Megan Coenen and Audrey Scharmer have each led the team in rebounding during the wins. More so, CUW has had at least two players with seven-plus rebounds in each of those games.- The Falcons can contend for a NACC title if they continue to outrebound the opposition by 8.7 rebounds per game, which leads the conference.

VALUING THE BASKETBALL LIKE GOLD- The Falcons have committed fewer turnovers in 8-of-14 games this season and more importantly 7-of-10 conference games.- During the game in which CUW commits fewer turnovers than the opposition they are 7-2.- Looking further into the turnover statistics and you will notice the Falcons hold a 164-126 lead in points off turnovers.- So, if CUW can continue to lead the NACC in few-est turnovers per game and score off opponents errors than they could win the NACC title.

MAKING OPPONENTS ONE DIMENSIONAL- Things haven’t been easy for opponents this season from 20-feet 9-inches away and beyond, shooting just 23.6 percent. The Falcons defensive

3-point percentage leads the NACC.- CUW has allowed 38 3-pointers during league games this season, which is 20 fewer than the next closest team (MSOE has given up 58 triples).- If the Falcons can continue to make opponents one dimensional on offense it can help them make a run for the NACC title.

MAKING THE BOX OUT COUNT- The Falcons do lead the NACC in offensive re-bounds this season, averaging 14.1 per league game. They have grabbed more offenisve re-bounds than conference foes in 8-of-10 games.- While the second-chance scoring statistics isn’t made public for each team, the Falcons are aver-aging 10.4 second-chance points per NACC game.- However, the Falcons are scoring less than a point per offensive rebound. If they can increase than number to a 1-to-1 ratio than their 10+ point margin of victories could turn into 20+ points, which would put them in prime position for a NACC title.

3-POINT SHOOTING CAN IMPROVE- While the Falcons can dominate a game in a va-riety of ways, they need to improve their 3-point shooting percentage. During 10 conference games they are making just 25.5 percent of their shots from downtown.- Madelyn Landgraf, a typical sharpshooter, has struggled this season from outside going 11-of-45 (24.4 percent) so far in league games.- The Falcons are 8-2 in NACC play, but could seperate themselves during their run to a league title if the outside shooting can improve.
