The Bakery We help big organisations to be more innovative by working with, and working more like, the amazing global ecosystem of tech entrepreneurs. We aim to solve some of their hardest business challenges too.

Over the last 2 years we have brought 41 trials to market with companies from all industries, from FMCG and automotive brands to banks, consultancies and public sector organisations. By de-risking the innovation process, focusing on learning fast, and sometimes failing, we help companies get new tech to trial – tech that can solve their core business problems and introduce a culture of entrepreneurialism to their own employees. In turn, the entrepreneurs we work with get the opportunity to scale quickly with the support of some of the world’s biggest brands.

Junk Kouture Junk Kouture is a creative platform which encourages young designers in second level education to create striking couture designs and impressive works of wearable art from everyday junk that would normally find its way into the bin. Junk Kouture aims to inspire and ignite passion in these teenagers while at the same time subtly educating them about the importance of recycling and reusing waste. Over the last five years, Junk Kouture has established itself as the premier recycled fashion competition for teenagers throughout Ireland and Northern Ireland and in 2015 extended its creative platform to the UK.

Our business model centres around giving our sponsors access to the highly sought after teenage market. Through our competition we are able to get access to the schools themselves – which greatly condenses the market access into much easier targeted blocks. This is very attractive to brands who seek to sell their products to teenagers. One example of this is current partner Bank of Ireland who have partnered with us in Ireland, through our competition they have acquired 30,000 teenage student customers over the last 3 years – at a very low CPA for them. On top of this we are a huge content creator, which is very visual and drives a lot of impressions for our sponsor partners. Last year over 12,500 teens took part in our competition, either entering it, designing something for it or just coming along to see the live events. To further engage these users we are currently working on a digital online platform to match what we do offline. It’s something we call ‘The Junk Kouture Neighbourhood’ – the coder dojo for creatives.

In the first year and Ben has received press and industry notice, being awarded the IMS Visionaries award last year. Ben continues to build and expand Chew internationally throughout 2016 with a key focus on the US which is the second largest territory for the platform by a large margin.

Today everyone has a smartphone in their pocket & everyone is filming. But companies are finding it hard to tap into this consumer behaviour. We’re working with companies such as The BBC, Camelot, Unilever, The Body Shop & O2, enabling them to be reactive and always stay relevant.

We’re a team of 8 and about to be a team of 10 with plans to grow to 14 this year. We have been through the Collider Accelerator and were also part of the BBCW Labs programme before moving into Idea London where we were based for 2015.
