International Trauma Program Leader, Kathleen Martin, Joins Digital Innovation, Inc. FOREST HILL, MD – Digital Innovation (DI) has announced the addition of Kathleen Martin, MSN, RN, to the company as our Director of Clinical Programs. In this role, Ms. Martin will direct a number of clinical software and educational initiatives to enhance DI’s trauma registry and performance improvement products and applications. Kathleen brings a wealth of clinical experience to DI.

Ms. Martin has over 35 years of experience in trauma care delivery. Her career has spanned diverse nursing positions including staff RN in the trauma ICU, clinical nurse specialist, trauma program manager, consultant, trauma nurse site surveyor, and entrepreneur in her own consulting company. In addition to earning her BSN, MSN and CCRN, she has completed additional course work in the areas of Physical Assessment, Statistics and Organizational Dynamics, and has authored many research papers and book chapters. Her research interests include organ donation, trauma performance improvement (PI), and trauma systems. She is an active educator, teaching ATCN and the Trauma Outcomes and Performance Improvement Course (TOPIC), and has had numerous invited speaking engagements.

Prior to her move to Digital Innovation (DI), Kathleen served as the Trauma Program Nurse Director at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center (LRMC) in Germany from 2006 through her recent move to Digital Innovation. During her tenure at LRMC, the facility was verified as a Level II trauma center in 2007 and rose to a Level I center in 2011. Since Kathleen’s arrival, more than 16,000 wounded soldiers have been admitted to the Landstuhl facility.

Kathleen has earned numerous Certifications and Licensures, has acquired an extensive list of national and regional appointments, academic appointments and professional recognitions. For 17 years she served on the Society of Trauma Nurses (STN) board of directors and is also past president of the organization. Her areas of participation with the STN include work as an original author/ faculty of the TOPIC and TOPIC-M course; Chair, TOPIC Committee; Editor in Chief of the Journal of Trauma Nursing; and international faculty for the ATCN Course. Kathleen was also the recipient of the Society of Trauma Nurses’ 2009 Distinguished Lectureship Award.

Ms. Martin has pioneered trauma performance improvement during her distinguished career and is passionate about enhancing clinical outcomes for all injured patients. Her role with Digital Innovation will extend the reach of her passion across DI’s large national and international user base, benefiting all of our users and products with an enhanced clinical and PI perspective.
