Introduction

PVT SW HDMI RGB D

Extron Digital Classroom AV Systems are complete, easy-to-use

AV switching and control systems that seamlessly integrate digital

and analog video sources. Each system uses economical twisted

pair cable for transmitting signals and includes network connectivity

for Web-based AV resource management, monitoring, and control.

These standard two and four-input systems include all the necessary

audio and video switching, audio amplification, system control,

source connectivity, speakers, mounting hardware, and cabling for

a complete classroom AV solution. All that remains is to add the

display device and sources.

True Digital and Analog Video Support

Extron Digital Classroom AV Systems provide dual input wallplates

for connection to HDMI and VGA sources. The PVT SW HDMI D

supports two HDMI inputs while the PVT SW HDMI RGB D supports

one HDMI and one VGA input. Standard four-input systems offer

connectivity for three HDMI and one VGA source.

CATx Active Transmission

Input wallplates transmit audio and video signals to the switcher

over a single CATx cable. CATx cable offers lower cost, wide

availability, and easier installation than standard coaxial cable. The

wallplates also incorporate Extron active twisted pair technology that

consistently delivers brighter, sharper, and more stable images than

passive systems.

Easy-to-use Room Control

The MLC 104 IP Plus MediaLink® Controller included in Digital

Classroom AV Systems is designed to simplify operation of the AV

system. With large, backlit buttons and a basic volume control knob,

the controller is almost as easy to use as a light switch. Presenters

with little or no training can learn to operate the system in a few

minutes. It replaces traditional handheld IR remotes that are so easily

lost or stolen, and eliminates the need for battery replacement.

Network Connectivity

Digital Classroom AV Systems include an IP enabled switcher/

amplifier and controller specifically engineered to meet the needs

of K-12 AV environments. The system incorporates a three-

port Ethernet switch, which allows up to two devices within the

classroom to share a single network drop. Network connectivity also

allows administrators and support personnel to manage, monitor,

schedule, troubleshoot, and control systems remotely.

Energy Efficiency

The ENERGY STAR® qualified switcher/amplifier includes two

Extron-exclusive power saving modes designed to lower energy

usage and reduce operating costs. Auto Power Save Mode

automatically turns off the audio amplifier after 30 minutes if no

audio is present. Standby Mode turns off the amplifier, wallplates,

VoiceLift receiver, and network switch, and can be scheduled

at specific times when the system is not in use or activated by

monitoring for when the projector is shut down.

Advanced Audio Capabilities

The switcher/amplifier provides numerous options for integration

with other classroom audio systems. A line level output allows

system audio to be used with podcasting or assistive listening

systems. The VoiceLift® Receiver input simplifies installation of the

VoiceLift Microphone. A switched audio only input provides support

for audio only devices or audio for a video source run directly to

the display. The auxiliary audio input accepts a line level input from

paging or public address systems.

PoleVault® Systems

PoleVault Systems are complete, centralized AV switching, audio

amplification, and control systems that are easy to install, use,

and support. PoleVault Systems were specifically developed for

classrooms with a ceiling mounted projector. They take their name

from the unique PMK 550 Pole Mount Kit that securely mounts and

conceals system components above the projector.

WallVault® Short-Throw Systems

WallVault Systems are complete, centralized AV switching, audio

amplification, and control systems that are easy to install, use, and

support. These WallVault Systems were specifically developed for

classrooms with an ultra short-throw projector. They take their name

from the unique USFM 100 ultra short-throw projector mount and

equipment enclosure that securely mounts the projector to a wall,

and conceals system switching and amplification components.

WallVault® Wall Mounted Systems

WallVault Systems are complete, centralized AV switching, audio

amplification, and control systems that are easy to install, use, and

support. These WallVault Systems were specifically developed for

classrooms with a flat panel display or mounted projector. They take

their name from the unique WMK 150 Wall Mount Kit that securely

mounts and conceals system switching and audio amplification

components to a wall.

PlenumVault® Systems

PlenumVault Systems are complete, centralized AV switching, audio

amplification, and control systems that are easy to install, use,

and support. PlenumVault Systems were specifically developed

for classrooms with a suspended ceiling. These systems take their

name from the unique PVM 220 PlenumVault Mounting Kit that

securely mounts and conceals system components in the plenum

area above a drop ceiling.
