    when you are old

music: i dont sleep very well when i travel. and as a result, i tend to be awake in cities when

everyone else is asleep. and thats where this album comes from. it was primarily written late at

night in cities when i felt like i was the only person awake (or alive). being the only person awake

(or alive) in an empty city is strange and disconcerting, but its also comforting. the streets are

empty and quiet. the streetlights are all on but are only illuminating emptiness. i dont know if any

o this will make sense to anyone listening to the album, but or me destroyed is an album that makes

the most sense late at night in an empty city when everyone else has gone to sleep. and, as always,

i presumptuously ask that you listen to the album in its entirety at least once, as it was put together

as a, hopefully, cohesive body of work, and i believe that it makes the most sense when listened to

rom start to fnish. a soundtrack or empty cities at 2 a.m, at least thats how i hear it. and, as always,

thank you or listening. and hopeully see you soon.

pictures: ive been taking pictures since i was 9 years old and my uncle started giving me his old camera

equipment (my frst camera was a nikon F that i still have and even occassionally still use). the pictures

in this cd booklet (and also in the full length book) were taken on tour while i was writing this album.

through the pictures i wanted to show a different side of touring and traveling. a side of touring that is

often mundane, disconcerting, and occasionally beautiful. touring for me is always strange. not bad, but

always strange. i hope that the pictures in this cd booklet (and book) somehow convey the strange and

sporadically beautiful aspects of being on tour. oh, and the cover image...it hasnt been manipulated.

its from a hallway in laguardia airport where there was a sign that said unattended luggage will be

destroyed. but the sign was small and could only ft one word at a time. so i waited and took the cover

image when it got to the last word in the sentence, destroyed.

    thanks, moby
