    Installation Note: Required is a stable floor and a sturdy table. No

    heat radiation, no draught. Remove Polystyrene insert from carton.

    1 Open Polystyrene insert and take the balance out.

    Remove plastic cover and taps.

    3 Remove accessories Container from the balance. Take out the accessories. Lift hood off balance housing.

    4 To change the voltage setting: Place the balance with its back on a suitable soft cushion. Open the oblong slider on the bottom cover plate and change connections on the terminal strip to the desired voltage.

    Push-button switch for the arrestment: 1: beam fully arrested 2: pre-weighing switched in 3: beam fully released

    6 Tare weight indication: Push lever to the left.

    7 Net weight indication: Push lever to the right.

    Connect balance to the power supply. lf one of the push-button switches lights up press switch No. 1 (beam fully arrested).

    9 Weight indication must show maximum built-in weights.

    10 Remove rubber band. Loosen two nuts. Leave U-bracket (stirrup) undisturbed.

    Loosen the two screws in the weighing compartment. Pull down plate carefully.

    12 Remove wooden blocks, cardboard and foam rubber insert.

    13 Install weight carrier so that the opening of the hook points towards right and attach it to U- bracket. Fasten plate inside the weighing compartment.

    Loosen two knuried nuts. Swing leaf springs aside by 90 and re-tighten nuts to prevent accidental displacement of the springs.

    15 Remove clip by pulling out paper strip.

    16 Turn knob counter clockwise to stop.

    Loosen knuried nuts. Swing leaf spring aside by at least 90, re-tighten nuts to prevent springs from moving accidentally. Pull out locking pin and store for oossible future use.

    18 Lift beam carefullv and remove Daoer strios.

    19 Attach pan so that the opening of the hook points towards right.

    Insert stirrup plate with V-mark facing operator. Remove foam rubber from weight carrier and attach same.

    21 Level balance by adjusting the front feet while observing the spirit level.

    22 Insert micrometer knob and turn micrometer to "00".

    Turn tare weight application to "000".

    Indication light: The red light indicates that the beam is fully released.

    Checking Even though every balance leaves the factory in perfectly adjusted condition, slight changes may occur in transit. Release beam fully and focus projection scale.

    37 Adjusting light intensity: Loosen knurled screw. Adjust plate until best illumination is reached and tighten screw again.

    lf adjusting range according to item no. 42 is insufficient: Arrest balance. Lift the hood off the balance housing in case of minus deflection in case of plus deflection

    43 Sensitivity control: Place on the pan a weight which is equivalent to the optical scale rnge. Switeh lowest weight ctecade to 1". Release balance. Adjust zero point.

    44 Turn weight application to 0". Scale swings throligh and must indicate exactiy 100".

    Weighing, regular Check zero point and adjust, if necessary. Place load on pan and switch-in pre-weighing.

    Arrest beam. After waiting for a few seconds release beam fully. When projection scale stops swinging turn micrometer until pointer coincides with one of the lines of the projection scale. Weight indication: 57.2325 g.

    Balances without Sartorius pre-weighing: Check zero point and adjust, if necessary. Place load on pan and switch arrestment lever up to position 2.

    51 Turn knob of the highest decade until the word Tare" appears on the screen, then go back one Step. Operate the other decades likewise.

    52 Arrest beam. After waiting for a few seconds release beam fully. When projection scale stops swinging turn micrometer until pointer coincides with one of the lines of the projection scale. Weight indication 57.2325 g.

    Special Accessories lf ordered later specify model for which the accessories are meant. lf tared weighing boats are to be used switch weight application to 20 g.

    When installing the tare ring, which is adjusted to the same weight of weighing pans and boats, remove tare weights according to item 68.

    Correction of the weighing results The built-in weights are manufactures out of non-magnetic stainless-steel (specific gravity 7.88 g/cm3) These weights are adjusted to match brass weights of a specific gravity of 8.4 g/cm3 for an average atmospheric pressure of 0.0012 g/cm3. No corrections are necessary for differential weighings of identical samples. In the case of absolute weighings, the result of the following formula must be added to the weight indication on the scale of the balance:
