George Ezra – Wanted on Voyage

Page 3: Digipak deconstruction

George Ezra – Wanted on Voyage The image on the front cover links to the music video of his hit song on the album ‘Budapest’,

where he is singing in the middle of a crowd of people. Therefore this image gives an insight into the album. The artist is in the centre of the image; the only person looking into the camera, and also wearing a red/burgundy shirt which stands out. Consequently the audiences eyes will be immediately drawn to the artist.

The font on the front cover is bold. The font size of the artist’s name is larger than the name of the album; indicating it is the name of the artist that is the selling point.

The font colour (white) on the front cover contrasts to the colourful and dark outfits of the people in the image.

The back cover background is black, so the white font of the tracklist contrasts to the background which appears striking and important.

The red/burgundy colour font of the track numbers and the ‘wanted on voyage’ phrase on the spine is the same colour as the artist’s shirt, connoting a clear house style of black, white and red/burgundy.

Half Moon Run – Dark Eyes

The front and back covers contain similar images: fire, flares and sparklers. The contrast between the brightly coloured fire and the dark black background stands out.

Other people are visible in the shot and are sitting in a group holding sparklers, indicating that the image is of a social gathering. This could connote that there is an element of fun to the album and songs.

The covers could be an insight to one of the music videos of a song.

The font has a soft yellow colour. It contrasts to the dark image but not in a striking way; instead the colours are calmer. The album name and the tracklist are all written in lowercase, suggesting that the album is casual and informal.
