Conventions of a Digipak
Folds:◦Digipacks are designed to
fold up into a square CD case, where the front and back panels are the main ways of promoting the CD.
◦The panels can fold many different ways and can have various amounts of panels.
◦The cardboard packaging folds around the plastic case which attaches the disk in place.
Front:◦Usually the front panel has
a large eye catching picture on them that is something to do with the artist or song.
◦The artists name and album title is generally featured on the front of the Digipak.
Back:◦The back of a Digipak
commonly features more artist artwork, a barcode, the track list, the record label, any extra information and sometimes the artist name will be featured again.
◦The back of the Digipak usually has the same theme and colour schemes used on the inside and the back.
Inside:◦ Inside the Digipak there is
a plastic holder where the disk is held, as this is clear sometimes there is artwork placed behind it.
◦Sometimes there is a booklet featured that contains artwork, song titles, song lyrics and who wrote the song.
