ColourThe colours of the digipak link back to the band description in the image section. The colours being black and white suggest the band and the music to be simple and relates to the look of them being laid back in the images. The inclusion of the red is not only a genre convention of rock music but could suggest their own twist on the music and may suggest that their music has something extra to make it not just simple and laid back music from the rock genre. Due to the disk having the colour red focused upon could further emphasise the suggesting of it linking to the music. Furthermore, when looking at some of the band’s merchandise and even music videos you can see the slight inclusion of the colour red and therefore could link to brand

Star ImageMuch like all rock genre digipaks the artist is next to always a focus for the design of the digipak and is very rarely included in the design, sometimes there is some version where the artist is edited into something that looks nothing like the artists. However, with this digipak the artists are the primary focus of the design, showing the artists playing their music and a wide shot of them all. Sticking with the theme of calm and laid back the image showing them all not with their instruments shows them to be relaxed and shows them to have no care about the meaning of their music. This links to the conventions of most artists in the rock genre to be considered ‘Badass’ this is due to them not caring what they say in their music.

TextThe text is very plain and straightforward to either suggest getting to the point or reinforce the idea of being laid back and calm about all matters. However, the font does show sleek design in some of the letters which could reinforce the theme of having some sort of twist in their music (referring to the colour section). The digipak does also have the typical institutional information but does also include ‘Thank You’ sections throughout the digipak which is commonly included with beginning bands in the industries, however, it is unexpected due to the theme of being laid back and the convention of being ‘Badass’.

ImageThe artists for of the band are following typical rock genre with the clothing that they are wearing; smart/casual clothes. This type of clothing is usually used to represent the mood of the band, and in this case the band are wearing very casual clothing suggesting them to be laid back in their songs and the feeling that they have for their songs. However, the band are shown as a whole and always together creating a sense of importance that they have for one another. On top of this the main image for the band on the front cover shows them playing with their instruments which suggests that making music is also something very important to them.
