FRONT COVER OF CD

The picture of Ed Sheeran’s face is the most eye-catching part of the CD cover as he is the unique selling point and is the reason why people buy the album.

The chalk-like feel to the cover gives an edgy effect, perhaps letting us know that it is different and out there. It is also a very natural, realistic image, giving us a sense of the artists genuine persona.

Instead of writing ‘Plus’ Ed Sheeran has included the numeric sign ‘+’ so create a logo that people will recognise.

Ed Sheeran has included an intense image of him starring at the audience to, perhaps, grab the audiences attention.

BACK COVER OF CD

The text is white and bold which contrasts with the orange background making it easy and visible to read. Furthermore, the font size and style of writing gives the audience an impression of what sort of style Ed Sheeran’s music is as it connotes with the singer/songwriter genre.

This list of songs gives the audience an view of the album and helps with the decision to buy it or not.

Legal information is printed in small back font because it is not as important to the audience compared to the text above.

POSTER

The image of Ed Sheeran produces iconography for the artist to the target audience. The image portrays a quirky side to the artist as his mouth is slightly turned up into a smile. Also, the image is identical to the one on the front of the CD which makes it easy to recognise.

The name of the artist is a key feature on the poster as it reinforces artist recognition. His name is not on the CD cover so when the audience see this poster, they will know who the CD is made by straight away.

Release date is essiential as it notifies the audience on when the album is coming out.
