Choose at least one to use as the base of a technology station and create the directions for that station. Remember, differentiate by allowing students to complete different objectives based on ability.

Directions - Use the ruler function to locate and identify the shortest distance and the longest distance (in miles) from the west coast to the east Coast of the US . Print your final answers and add to your unit portfolio.

Google Earth - Other Examples

• Overlay USGS Earthquakes and plate tectonics to show relationship.

• Measure distances between home, school, etc. Add/Subtract by answering how much further…etc.

• Use the distance measurement to write analogies, ex. Our school is to the sphinx as Ohio is to Texas.

• Label Geometric shapes of buildings.

• Use thumbtacks to show biomes and add facts.
