ACTING PRINCIPAL’S REPORT

ISAC ENGLISH NEWS

On Monday 28th July 2014, 42 students from Patterson

Lakes Primary School participated in the English

International Competitions and Assessments for Schools

2014.

We are pleased to make special mention of Maisy N (4D)

who was awarded a High Distinction. Other students

received pleasing results with 2 Distinctions, 16 Credits, 2

Merits and 21 Participation Certifications.

Well done to all Patto students who participated.

FOOTY DAY GOLD COIN DONATION

GOLD COIN DONATION FOR “FOOTY DAY”

This year at our Footy Day Parade, we will be raising money

for the students sports shed. To do this, we are running a

gold coin competition, in place of our traditional Coin Line.

Your child is asked to wear their team colours in support of

their footy team, for a gold coin donation.

Here’s how it will work:

Students will bring their gold coin to the morning footy

parade. There will be a student representing each football

team. They will have a clearly labelled sign with a bucket for

the gold coins. Students will place their gold coin in their

team’s coin bucket. We will then count each bucket to find

out which team raised the most money.

Items chosen for the Sports Shed will be decided upon by

the Junior School Councillors and the House Captains. This year there is NO coin line,

only a gold coin donation.

GROUNDS WORKS

Last weekend a Community Work Team completed a number of jobs in our school ground. The major ones completed were: new soft fall (mulch) was spread in all three adventure playgrounds, our sandpits were topped up and some soil was placed in the boxes around the trees in the courtyard.

PREPARING TODAY’S STUDENTS FOR TOMORROW

This week’s topic in the department’s ‘School Update’ is about ‘Healthy Eating’ and some ideas of what to pack in your child’s lunchbox. Please see the flyer included in this newsletter.

2015 SCHOOL ENROLMENT Just a reminder to parents whose children will not be attending Patterson Lakes Primary School in 2015, please complete the following form and return it to the school office or alternatively you can email your intentions to my email account [email protected]. Many thanks to families that have already informed the school.
