RULES AND EXAMPLES:

One use is the present simple to talk about future actions that are planned or are part of a routine. However:

1 The use of the 'present simple' is preferred when events or actions are part of a program or are unalterable.

The sun rises at 6.15 tomorrow.

The sun comes out tomorrow at 6:15.

My plane is at two o'clock.

My flight is at 2.

When plans are less formal or not part of a routine is not usually used the 'present simple' but 'will', the present continuous or 'be going to'. I will go to the cinema tomorrow. I'll go to the movies tomorrow (I just decided) Susan I'm seeing tonight. I'm going to see tonight Susan (is planned) It's going to rain. It will rain (no evidence).

In subordinate clauses introduced by 'as soon as', 'after', 'before', 'when', 'until', 'till', 'by the time', 'while' future action regarding this is used simple and 'will'.

I is going to buy a Porsche When I retire.

He will buy a Porsche when you retire.

Will stay here until you have leaves?

Will you be here until you go?

By the time you read this letter I Should be in Paris.

By the time you read this letter could be in Paris.

In conditional introduced by 'if', 'in case', 'provided', 'UNLESS' also used the present simple.

Provided you make the dinner I'll clean the house.

As long as you make dinner I clean the house.

UNLESS you lend me some money I won't be reliable to pay it.

Unless you lend me money I will not be able to afford
