—the words elicit images of 1930s elegance, sleek lines, stylish modernism and new technologies. The tough economic times of the period brought about a streamlining in many areas of life, including design.
Today, as The Women’s Board seeks to continue its commitment to raising funds for Wolfson Children’s Hospital, we face challenges similar to those in the Thirties. Yet our efforts remain strong, our goals directed, our focus determined and our commitment resolute. Despite economic challenges, children continue to need medical care; therefore, The Women’s Board relentlessly continues its work.
The 35th Anniversary Art & Antiques Show celebrates the streamlined beauty of the Art Deco period while highlighting our reason for producing this stellar event: the children. Every child who comes through the doors of Wolfson is like a special diamond—uniquely made, uniquely gifted, with unique medical needs. For 35 years The Women’s Board has sought to help each of those children sparkle a little brighter.
May we continue to serve for the next 35.

Dedicated to children’s health.
As one of the nation’s premier pediatric health care systems, we’ve made a promise to
do whatever it takes to prevent and treat the most disabling childhood conditions. It’s
a promise that extends beyond our nationally recognized clinical treatment to an entire
integrated spectrum of research, advocacy, education and prevention services for all
families in the communities we serve.
The Nemours Children’s Clinic is one integrated multispecialty group practice with
locations in four states, seeing patients from across the U.S. and the world. In Jacksonville,
the Nemours Children’s Clinic has 17 pediatric divisions providing world-class care to
children with complex health problems and needs. Serving children from southeast Georgia
and northeast Florida, the facility sits on the banks of the St. Johns River. Satellite clinics
extend our care to families in Orange Park and South Jacksonville.
At Nemours, we’re dedicated to achieving higher standards in children’s health. And we
begin by caring for every child as if they were our own. For more than 70 years, this has
been the Nemours Way.

Dear Friends,
Welcome to the 35th Anniversary Art & Antiques Show! It is hard to believe that I have been fortunate enough to be involved as Honorary Chair of this event for 22 years. It has always been a pleasure working with The Women’s Board to help advance the cause of Wolfson Children’s Hospital.
As I review all of the changes currently taking place, it is with great pride that I look back and see everything we have accomplished. Proceeds from this year’s Show will go toward the recently named Larry J. Freeman Behavorial Health Center, an eleven-bed clinical facility in the new patient tower on the Downtown Campus.
In closing, it is with sincere gratitude that I thank you for joining my family and me in supporting such an invaluable community mission. From my family to yours, may the holiday season bring blessings to each of you.
Best regards,
T. Wayne Davis, Honorary Chair
PMrs. Tillman Carvert, Jr., Founder and Chair Emerita, with Mrs. Bruce A. Smathers, President
Passion. Talent. Sacrifi ce. These are three words that readily come to mind when I think of the women who have led the annual Art & Antiques Show during its 35 year history. The 2011 chairs, Roxane Andrade and Grace Sarber, are the latest in a long line of exceptionally dedicated women to lead this event, which was begun in 1977 by Grace’s grandmother and our Chair Emerita, Ellen Cavert, to benefi t Wolfson Children’s Hospital.
Roxane and Grace, with the help of a large and multi-talented committee, have chosen “Deco and Diamonds” as their theme, and in so doing not only present us with yet another beautifully conceived benefi t for Wolfson Children’s Hospital, but also hearken us back to a time in our country’s history when America was facing diffi cult fi nancial circumstances. In this current economic climate, we are all the more grateful for the exemplary support of our Presenters and Sponsors, not to mention our Opening Night Party Patrons and Show attendees.
Whether you are a Presenter or a ticket buyer, please be assured that your contribution will enable The Women’s Board to fulfi ll year four of a fi ve-year, $4 million pledge to the Larry J. Freeman Behavioral Health Center. As we watch the new tower going up on the Baptist Health downtown campus, we grow ever more excited that the vision of a fully integrated, state-of-the-art Behavioral Health Center is taking shape. The new Center will be much better able to serve the needs of children in our community who are coping with serious psychological and psychiatric disorders, as well as those issues associated with chronic and terminal illness, childhood obesity, eating disorders, bereavement and other acute emotional problems.
This year’s 35th Anniversary Art & Antiques Show is lovingly dedicated to Ellen Cavert and her husband, Tillman, to whom she is always quick to give much of the credit for her success in founding The Women’s Board. Their “sweet spirit,” focus and drive have inspired us all, from the group of 39 women who joined Ellen in 1977 to found The Women’s Board, to the nearly 400 who now make up our membership.
On behalf of Ellen, Tillman and the entire Women’s Board, I extend deepest gratitude for your patronage and support of Wolfson Children’s Hospital. Enjoy the Show—and have a happy and healthy holiday season.
Susan Smathers President

FFor the past 35 years, The Women’s Board has produced the Art & Antiques Show. A commitment borne out of loss so many years ago, it has served as a beacon to our community, a shining light of hope and promise.
As the two of us have worked side by side during the past year, the wonder of bringing together an event of this magnitude has humbled us. More than 400 volunteers have given of their time and hearts, a generous corporate community has moved us by their steadfast support, the hospital has stood behind us, and our dear husbands and children have sacrifi ced to support this work that we all believe in so much. We are grateful.
For this special anniversary year, The Women’s Board dedicates its 35th Anniversary Art & Antiques Show to two people whose lives have beautifully infl uenced so many others. For Ellen Cavert, our indomitable founder, and her husband of 72 years, Tillman, who has unwaveringly supported her and all of us as we have pursued improving health care for our community’s children, this Show is lovingly offered.
We thank you for joining us as we celebrate the joy of children restored to health.
Yours gratefully and in partnership,
Roxane Andrade
