The largest surface mine in the world

This diamond mine is in Eastern Siberia within the town called “Mirny”. Its 525 meters deep and 1.2 km across.

The truck “Belaz” is one of the largest in the world, its 13,36 m long 7,78 m wide and 6,65 m tall.

On next slide it’s like a tiny dot .

The hole is so large that its “airspace” is closed to aircraft as the wind causes

unpredictable vortex.
