This course is designed to provide the practicing radiologist with anoverview and update on clinically relevant topics in diagnostic imaging.Practical diagnostic tools utilizing helical CT, MRI, PET and breast imagingmethods will be stressed.

Upon course completion, the registrant should be able to:- discuss PET imaging as utilized in various organ systems;- describe the practical clinical applications of CT/MR in cardio-thoracic

imaging;- update colleagues on current imaging methods and diagnosis of vascular

and pulmonary disease, as well as applicable interventional procedures;- identify the indications for the use of breast ultrasound and/or

mammography, as well as breast imaging reporting and medicolegalaspects;

- discuss the applications of CT/MR in abdominal imaging, focusing onliver/pancreas, prostate, female pelvis and cholangiography;

- utilize MRI for injuries and chronic conditions of the shoulder and lowerextremities.

AccreditationThe University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine (UCSF) is accredited

by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME)to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

UCSF designates this educational activity for a maximum of 23.75 category 1 credits toward the AMAPhysician’s Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those credits that s/he actually spentin the activity.

The total credits include 3.75 credits in breast imaging.

Nurses: This program is approved for AMA-CMA credit and will be accepted toward meeting thecontinuing education requirements for license renewal of the California Board of Registered Nurses onan hour-for-hour basis (nurses from states other than California should inquire with their local stateboard for specific continuing education policies). Nurses may report 23.75 contact hours if theyattend the entire program.

Technologists: This program is approved for AMA-CMA credit and will be accepted toward meetingthe continuing education requirements of the ASRT. Technologists may report 23.75 ECE points inCategory B if they attend the entire program.
