Most of the time we expect medical doctors to give us an answer that fits the symptoms we don’t like. So people coming to medical doctors are very often treated “as patient” in a “medical- system” of its own. If we take a closer look at these facts, we would realize that we know very well what it is all about. In the field of medicine we would call a similar system an “abscess” within an “abscess-cavity”. To understand the basics of diabetes we have to look beyond that “closed cage”. We have to search for reasons why such a situation becomes a threatening challenge to so many people. Most of the time we don’t take into account people’s experiences. As human beings we have the indescribable right to inhabit a physical body, serving us as a part of nature. There is no chance of under- standing our bodies, as long as we look from the point of view of a self-established island or “abscess-cavity” made by human will. To find the real causes of most uncomfortable situations within our bodies, we have to change our point of view. These situations, usually filled with discomfort, are called dis-eases. We have to understand that from the very beginning. Looking for the basic reasons leading to diabetes is only a small part of a whole endeavour. It is an endeavour to ground medicine in a natural way, to ground medicine as part of a service for the whole evolution. It is not the sugar that is killing man! To understand diabetes, we have to radically change our point of view. It is not the sugar that is killing man! It is impossible for natural sugar to kill our bodies. Our bodies as a part of nature are provided to serve as natural vehicles for our consciousnesses and they know very well how to handle natural sugar. This seems to be easy, maybe too easy? and it is easy, because it is part of natural law: No natural material used with good common sense will harm our bodies. If natural material harmed the physical human body, this would be against natural law. As a living organism our body is able to control the concentration or quantification of “the sugar-substance” within very narrow ranges. The body is intelligent enough to know how to handle the concentration with the help of two different hormonal systems: the insulin and the glucagon. But the system only works with the natural substance sugar. It is not the sugar that causes the problem, but it is a question of natural or unnatural sub- stances and regulation. It is obvious that there is some problem with what we are taking in, and what is happening in our bodies in taking that substance. Even when it seems to be easy, there are a few basic rules we have to under- stand. One main problem for our bodies is to handle things we take into his or her “inner sphere”. For example there is no other way for a human body to smoke except by human will, which forces him or her to put the cigarette into the mouth and to let the body inhale it. We have to face aworldwide problem

The diagnosis “diabetesmellitus” is a worldwidechallenge. The prevalence ofdiabetes in the United Statesis about 17 million Americans.That means 6.2% of America’spopulation suffers from dia-betes. Out of this number only11.1 million people are diag-nosed diabetes and the other5.9 million don’t even knowthat they suffer from diabetes.

Worldwide we have more than 135 millionpeople diagnosed with diabetes (in 1995) andthe World Health Organization estimates thatworldwide around 300 million people will havediabetes in 2025.

The incidence of diabetes in the UnitedStates is one million people aged 20 years orolder diagnosed as “new cases” a year. Thisincredible number might be part of the problemof “not understanding” what is happening.

Because of this unimaginable number mostpeople accept the situation as unchangeable.The problem seems to be far beyondour understanding and we think thatothers have to find a solution.

Even physicians just believe in whatthey are told, not searching for the basicreasons behind such a situation. Andmost so-called patients are just waitingto be one more suffering from the long-term effects of diabetes. Having thosesymptoms a few years later seems to bea victory. For comparison the incidenceof heart failure in the United States is“only” about 400,000 to 700,000 a year.

Our bodies know very well how tohandle natural sugars as we find themin many fruits and naturally occurringnutrition. But that very well known wayto handle sugar doesn’t work when itisn’t a natural sugar any more.

But what happens to the sugar?

If the thesis of “sugar-changes” is true wehave to find significant changes between sugarprovided by Nature and sugar used by man.

Maybe most of the scientifically trainedpeople these days are used to looking forchemical changes. We are talking about carbohy-drates: “Plants manufacture the structural carbo-hydrate cellulose and the storage form starchfrom the energy captured during photo-synthesis.

In animals, the carbohydrates glucose andglycogen are sources of energy. Carbohydratesare aldehyde or ketone derivatives of alcoholshaving more than one OH-group.

The simple sugars (monosaccharides) arethe simplest form of carbohydrate and include

the pentose, ribose and the hexoses, glucose(blood sugar) and fructose (fruit sugar). Pentosesugars are important parts of nucleotides and

nucleic acids. The hexoses,glucose, galactose, fructoseand mannose are physio-logically most important.

Disaccharides are twomonosaccharides boundtogether. Examples arelactose (milk sugar) andsucrose (table sugar)”.

The chemical structure ofglucose is that of a mono-saccharid. I don’t want to gotoo deeply into the chemicalanalysis, because we willcome to a dead-end road.

But to underline howeasily one can be fooled, Iwant to show that chemi-cally there is no difference

between the raw-sugar and the crystallizedwhite sugar we usually use.

The original sugar cane contains 14% traceelements, minerals and vitamins, pluschlorophyll. The sugar we can buy in thesupermarkets is chemically the same sugar. Itis sugar cane heated up in chalk-milk toextract calcium and protein. During this stepall vitamins are destroyed and most of theminerals are washed out.

Then the product is mixed with acid chalk,carbonic gas, sulphur dioxide and sodium

bicarbonate. This mixture is heated andcooled off several times, and there-after crystallized and centrifuged. It ischemically still a carbohydrate orC12H22O11. That’s the chemical way oflooking at it.

So there are no significant chemicalchanges. Much more interesting is thatthere is a physical process going onthat might change the quality and sowe might not get the sugar qualityoriginally contained in the sugar plants.

Sugar as we usually use it, is in-dustrialized crystal or granulated sugar.And we can show very importantdifferences in energy.

Studies with GDV-photographyshow that difference. Gas DischargeVisualization is a computerized form ofthe Kirlian photography that usesphotography to show the same effect.Dr. Konstantin Korotkov of Saint

Petersburg, Russia, is professor of Physics atthe State Technical University and the leadinghead of the GDV-research.

The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates thatthere will be worldwide over 300 million people diagnosedDiabetes in the year of 2025. It’s presumed that only halfof the affected people are diagnosed.

This technique, called the Gas DischargeVisualization technique (GDV), is a breakthroughbeyond Kirlian photography. GDV can do direct,real-time viewing and capturing the energyemanating to and from an individual, plants,liquids and other things and translate this intoa computerized model. The system used was aGDV-Camera for digitalized Kirlian-photographybuilt by Dr. Korotkov. The different solutionswere examined using the cup device from thematerial testing kit.

What we can see are the different shining-areas reproduced with plain water and differentsolutions. When we analyse it by mathematicalreproduction we see the difference between rawsugar and white crystal sugar.

So the question becomes more and moreevident: What happens to the sugar? Althoughwe still have the same chemical structure youdefinitely see a significant difference of energy.

So I looked at the processing of raw sugarinto white crystal sugar. Water and calciumcarbonate are the main substances added tothe raw sugar. Then the liquid is centrifuged.The hypothesis was that centrifuging is themain destabilizing factor during this processing.

When we take the same raw-sugar solutionas before and centrifuge it for 20 minutes wecan see that the shining area of the GDV-gramshrinks. The result is just between the results

for a raw-sugar solution and the white-crystallizedsugar solution.

So I can come to the conclusion that thechanges of energy are the result of the centri-fuging process and we don’t have the samesugar after processing! This conclusion showsthat looking at things in a different way than usualmay be the right way to understand the problem.

But, hopefully I believe that many scientifi-cally trained people realize that we can alwaysarrive at an understanding as long as we go

with natural laws! Maybe the questions are notthe right ones or maybe we do not understandthe answer we get.

But always there is wisdom in Nature andwhen we start to understand Nature we startto understand our bodies and we also willunderstand medical problems.

Therefore, in this case, I had to go beyondthe first idea about chemical changes, becausewhat happens in the body showed that therehad to be a significant difference, that couldnot be found that way. The only question washow and where to find that little factor thatmakes all the difference. And in this case it isthe physical processing that seems to changethe energetic value of natural raw-sugar.

To our highly sensitive body-systems itmakes a significant difference to get one orthe other form of sugar! That is one of theimportant facts we have to focus our attentionon, for the understanding of diabetes.

What is the “sugar story?”

The natural components our bodies needare carbohydrates. We all know that this is “THEENERGY” for our cells. But not only this!

There is a whole new branchof scientific research calledglucosciences. This is becausethe scientific world is startingto realize that all major infor-mation-systems of our bodieswork with polysaccharides.

As the American DiabetesAssociation writes: “Sugar is thebasic fuel for the cells in thebody”. But it is much more abasic quality our bodies reallyneed. Real sweetness providedby natural sugar without changesof energy is what we need.

And what is enough, isenough! Our bodies are welltrained friends. They takewhatever they need to do theirjob and that’s it! As we can seein many situations, our bodiesare intelligent enough to dothe best possible with the leastpossible use of natural resources.

But there are certain groupsthat want us to use more andmore sugar. Marketing strategiesmake us believe that “a sweet life”needs sugar. But what they offer

us is not the natural sweetness we find inNature. They sell us a modified substance we getaddicted to, without getting the quality we need.

The world-sugar production of today is morethan 135 million metric tons. The U.S. sugarproduction expanded from 6.1 million short tons,raw value in 1986 to 9 million tons in 2000meaning an increase of one third in 14 years.(see diagram ‘World Sugar Balance’, page 5).

And all this sugar is centrifuged sugar! Thesugar we are offered for nutrition has gonethrough the whole industrializing process anddiffers from natural sugar.

Yes our bodies need to have carbohydrates.But not as excessively as we might desire. Wehave been trained by marketing strategies to

get used to large amounts of sugar, far morethan our bodies need.

It is not only the “sugar-industry” that ismaking a profit. There is an even greaterbusiness with all the candies, food-stuff industryand merchandising machinery. But by selling andconsuming more and more sugar one problembecomes more and more evident: Diabetes.

Medical research scientists started to warnthat there is a creeping disease. Because thereis no direct symptom in the beginning, thedisease goes unnoticed with fatal damage to thewhole body. And very early in the 1900’s thelink between sugar and diabetes was described.

A problem occurred for the industry: You cannot sell large amounts of sugar if it’s obviouslythe cause of so serious a disease! How to continuemaking profits?

First you have to make sure that there is nolink between the production you are responsiblefor and this horrible disease. Who else is involvedin the story and where can we find otherreasons for this situation?

An immense research was started regardingall the problems experienced by the humanbody, with regards to diabetes. During thisresearch the centre of attention would be oneverything, except the production itself. So stepby step you focus on the body’s insufficiencyand make sure that it is not the sugar that is

responsible for the disease but the insulin.It is a typical “not me” reaction, which is

the prevailing attitude until today. This reactionis responsible for most of the physical problemspeople have to face. We proclaim that we arenot responsible for the situation.

In the case of sugar, medical research hasstarted to show that it is the body which is nolonger capable of producinginsulin. Do not blame thesugar-production or the in-dustry providing mankindwith sweetness in a way theynever knew before. The bodyis blamed for the disaster.

So until today in themedical world researchersare looking at the insulin andhardly anyone is starting tolook at the product leavingthe factories.

But as said before: Nonatural material will harmour body. That’s how we haveto look at Nature! Our bodiesas a part of Nature will worktogether with it because of the strong link oflove between all parts of nature.

That is the ground on which you will find afirm stand again and from which you can take a

different look at the world and start to understand.In the 1940’s researchers recognized the link

between diabetes and the long-term compli-cations. It was proclaimed that people withdiabetes have a high incidence of vascular andneurological damage with consecutive damageto kidneys, feet and eyes.

In the late 1950’s diabetologists found thatthere are two types of diabetes. And theydescribed that overweight is one of the mainrisk factors for type 2 diabetes. That is thebeginning of another story:

The story of non-caloric sweetenersand artificial sweeteners

Today the worldwide artificial-sweetenermarket is estimated to be more than 1.2 BillionUS $ a year. And the artificial sweeteners aremuch more of a problem than denaturalizedsugar itself. All over the world there are threemajor substances used:

Saccharin, which has no calories yet is 300times sweeter than sugar and the oldest artificialsweetener.

Aspartame, which has the same amount ofcalories as sugar (four per gram) yet is 180 to200 times as sweet, is available to help satisfyAmericans’ twin cravings for sweets andslimness.

Cyclamate, calorie-free yet 30 times sweeterthan sugar, was banned by the Food and DrugAdministration in 1970 because of concerns overits safety.

Beside all the side-effects, one of the majorproblems is that these substances are up to 300times sweeter for our body taste. So for the sameamount of carbohydrates we get so much more

Dr. Banting with his assistant Dr. Best discovered insulin in 1921. From this time on thecommon opinion that insulin is the key to the understanding of diabetes was established,and no further attention was paid to the actual cause of the disease. Nobody realized theenergetic “sugar-changes” which are caused by industrializing processes of natural sugar.

The sugar industry sells more industrialized sugar every year.Our bodies cannot handle the large amounts of energeticallychanged sugar and are still starving for the right quality of sugar.

sweetness. Our bodies need naturalcarbohydrates and that is what theyare looking for. And what do theyget? The same illusionary feeling ofsweetness that natural sugars wouldprovide. But at the same time ourbodies get no carbohydrates andno quality of sweetness! From ourbodies’ point of view they try to getused to the unnatural sweetness.

They do it in their never-endingloving way as they try to do theirjob in spite of all the addictive thingswe do to them. For our bodies getused to it, it is their only chance tosurvive and thereby serve mankind!

I don’t want to refer to all the numerousproblems Aspartame, as one of the mostcommonly used artificial sweeteners, hasbrought into our lives. That is well documentedand can be easily found for example on manyinternet sites.

Aspartame accounts for over 75 percent ofthe adverse reactions of food additives reportedto the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).Many of these reactions are very seriousincluding seizures and death as reported in aFebruary 1994 Department of Health and HumanServices report.

In relation to diabetes we have to face thefact that artificial sweeteners are no solutionto the described link between diabetes Type IIand overweight. They do not reduce weight!In truth they are part of the problem, becauseof weight gain and tricking the body.

From symptom to disease

Most of the medical knowledgestarts because of symptoms we feelwithin our bodies. Then during medicalexamination more and more relatedfacts are added to the “basic-symptoms”and we get the diagnosis. The historyof diabetes is very quietly related tosuch a change of perspective.

The earliest known records from1552 B.C. mention the symptompolyuria which is one of the majorsymptoms we find related to diabetes.So physician Hesy-Ra in the 3rd EgyptianDynasty was very right with the symptom aswe find it until today.

During the following centuries details wereadded until in 1869 Paul Langerhans fromGermany described two different excretion

systems of the pancreas. The outer secretory-system for the digestion function of the intestineand the inner-secretory function was not yetunderstood. But later they named these specificpancreas-cells after this man as “islands ofLangerhans”. And the medical world lookedmore and more for these details and didn’trealize the relation between a person’s life andthe changes in his or her body.

Now the World Health Organisation (WHO)explains: “The term diabetes mellitus describesa metabolic disorder of multiple aetiologycharacterized by chronic hyperglycaemia withdisturbances of carbohydrate, fat and proteinmetabolism resulting from defects in insulinsecretion, insulin action, or both.”

The reason is established: “…resulting fromdefects in insulin secretion, insulin action, orboth…” As a medical doctor you are not evenasked to interpret the symptoms to understand

what is behind them. You should make thediagnosis by the later on explained differentblood tests and after that you have to knowwhat the disease results from.

But the symptoms are still the same and

diabetes is characterized by thefollowing symptoms:v unusual thirstv frequent urinationv unusual weight lossv extreme fatigue or lack of energyv blurred visionv frequent or recurring infectionsv cuts and bruises heal slowlyv tingling, numbness in hands or feet.

The word “diabetes” comes fromthe roots of the Greek and Latinlanguage. diabetes derives from theGreek word “Diabainein” standingfor “to the siphon (flowing off)”. This

means the characteristic signal of a diabetic isfrequent urination. The necessary water runsthrough the body of a person and is flusheddown the toilet.

And the word “mellitus” comes from Latinand means “Sweet as honey”. The urine of adiabetic contains glucose and so it tastes sweet.That’s the difference to other forms of diabetes(“diabetes insipidus”).

In former years this sweet urine was THESYMPTOM showing the practitioner very stronglythe relation to sweetness. Today the diagnosiswill be made in laboratories by blood-testing.

Blood test for diagnosis

Blood tests are taken for diagnosis and theglucose will be estimated. There are severaldifferent tests to obtain information:v The fasting plasma glucose test: Is done in

the morning before eating. Normalfasting plasma glucose levels are lessthan 110 milligrams per decilitre (mg/dl).  Fasting plasma glucose levels ofmore than 126 mg/dl on two or moretests on different days indicate diabetes.v Random plasma glucose test: Differsfrom situation to situation and is donethe same way as the fasting glucosetest but without fasting. It showsdifferent levels depending on thetime difference of food-intake.

Because of more and more problemsof low-level glucose by diabetics in themorning, medical doctors change from

tests after fasting to this kind of testing.v Oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT): For theoral glucose tolerance test (or Impaired GlucoseTolerance Test, IGT), you must fast overnight(at least 8 but not more than 16 hours) and go

to your doctor’s office or the laboratory in themorning.  First, your fasting plasma glucose istested.  After this test, you receive 75 grams ofglucose. Blood samples are taken up to fourtimes during the following hours to measureyour blood glucose.

There are many known conditions withfalse positive testing. So be sure: For the test togive reliable results, you must be in good health(not have any other illnesses, not even a cold). Also, you should be normally active (for example,not lying down as an in-patient in a hospital)and taking no medicines that could affect yourblood glucose.  For 3 days before the test, youshould have eaten a diet high in carbohydrates(150-200 grams per day).  The morning of thetest, you should not smoke or drink coffee.

Diabetes  will be diagnosed when twodiagnostic tests done on different days showthat the blood glucose level is high.v The blood test with a memory: The blood testwith memory is the so called AIC test, or aglycated haemoglobin (GHb) test. This testrequires only one sample of blood, which canbe taken at any time of the day, even right aftera meal. Although a high glycated haemoglobinlevel almost always means IGT or diabetes, peoplewith IGT or diabetes can have normal levels. 

Haemoglobin is the protein in red bloodcells that carries oxygen. Glycated haemoglobinforms when glucose in the blood attaches tothe haemoglobin. Because blood cells stay incirculation for 2-3 months, the glycated haemo-globin level is a good measure of a person’saverage blood glucose level over the previous 2-3months. The rate of formation of GHb is directlyproportional to the ambient glucose concen-tration. Since erythrocytes are freely permeableto glucose, the level of GHb in a blood sampleprovides a glycaemic history of the previous 120days, the average erythrocyte life span.

This test is not used to diagnose diabetesbut to monitor blood glucose control.

After all,Diagnosis will be a matter of numbers!

From this moment on, the focus is no longeron the symptoms that help us to understandthe situation. The symptoms would help aperson to understand the changes in relationto his or her body.

Now we have reached a point when the“controlled examination” shows who you are.Don’t worry about realizing this. It is justimportant to understand the system, so you

know what will happen when you go to yourphysician and when you have one or more riskfactors for diabetes. You will be examined andit might be a question of numbers whether youget diagnosed having diabetes. Don’t take thissystem for more than it is: a system of numbersto establish different groups.

And beside this “number-system” don’t loseyour relationship to your body. It is because ofthe symptoms that you have a chance tounderstand your way back to being healed again.

Different Types of Diabetes

There are different types of diabetes. Besidesthe gestational diabetes we know the Type I

diabetes. It was usually diagnosed in childrenand young adults, and was previously knownas juvenile diabetes. In Type I diabetes, the bodydoes not produce any insulin. And as the Ameri-can Diabetes Association says: “Insulin is neces-sary for the body to be able to use sugar. Sugar isthe basic fuel for the cells in the body, and insulintakes the sugar from the blood into the cells.”

Type I diabetes without any production ofinsulin is according to this understanding asevere problem for the body and will leaddefinitely to death. Today the most commonlydiscussed relation is an auto-allergic reactionagainst beta-cells of the pancreas.

To understand the real importance andreason for this disease we have to understandthe different circumstances leading to autoallergic reactions. It is not enough to describethe destruction of pancreatic cells withoutlooking for the cause!

This presentation refers mainly to diabetesType II and so I can only mention a few ideasabout auto-allergic reactions. Artificial sweet-eners are depressing our immune system as aside effect of their use.

Today’s most commoninterpretation is that the body reacts to higherblood-glucose by producing more and moreinsulin and the pancreas will be exhausted aftera few years of intensified production. At thesame time the insulin-corresponding cells getless and less effective so the body needs moreinsulin for the same reaction.

The concept of an exhausted organ must bebased on the belief in a “fixed maximumamount” of insulin. After using most of theinsulin the body will not produce any newinsulin. Think about it! When you use yourcommon sense you will immediately under-stand that this is against normal experience.

The other part is the effectiveness of thereceptor site. Here is the linking to body-weight.The idea that more weight means “relativelyless” receptors is now being discussed. Thismight be a real cause explaining why a wrongunderstanding of Nature, one of the inner causesof diabetes, is related to diabetes Type II.

Pancreas TransplantationIt is like a competition to be oneof the first to transplant isletcells successfully for a longertime. But the idea is limited bythe immune system of ourbodies. Whenever surgeons im-plant foreign tissue they haveto block the immune system.And all these drugs have veryuncomfortable side effects. Somaybe the winner of thecompetition will not be the bestsurgeon but the one with the bestconnections to the pharma-ceutical industry. And the sideeffect on the immune systemwill be worse from deliberatesynthetic immune-suppressorsthan it would be from artificial sweeteners.

It is the same delusion we find by usingso-called self-protecting medicine to prevent thebody from her or his own reactions. It is a quickway to stop symptoms but it is a pathway toaddiction and to blocking healing. Dietetic TreatmentIn the past, avoidance of sugar has been themajor focus of nutritional advice for people withdiabetes. The other parts deal with a long listof nutritional facts you have to learn. searchers. So different authors in the March2003 edition of “Diabetes Research and ClinicalPractice” wrote repetitively: “Lifestyle inter-vention studies have consistently shown thatquite modest changes can reduce the pro-gression from IGT to diabetes by 50-60%”.

That’s the best way not tostarve whilst immersed in abundance and itdefinitely is the best way to start loving Natureand the body that has been given to you. Thiswill be the shortest and safest way to preventyou from having diabetes.

Besides you have to give your body physicallythe sweetness it needs. So take the desired

amount of natural sugar, e.g. maple syrup orunrefined sugar. You also need a balancedamount of minerals and vitamins.

The Cure for Diabetes

Those with Type 2 diabetes generally werefound to be low in zinc and magnesium andoften low in vitamins B6 and C. So we have toadd these vitamins and minerals.

Magnesium: For magnesium it is shown tohave a relationship to long-term retinopathy.There might be evidence that the long-term effectis more related to the low level of mineral thanto diabetes.

Chromium: Also chromium is one of theimportant minerals. It has been shown thattrivalent chromium, given on a daily basis couldimprove blood sugar metabolism.

Brewer’s yeast: Brewer’s yeast has also beenshown to have significant benefits for diabetics.Both brewer’s yeast and trivalent chromium arehelpful to lower elevated total cholesterol andtotal lipids. Very often you find lipid-disordersaccompanying diabetes. So you can improve bothdisorders.

Vanadium: It has been shown that vanadiumis helpful, because it lowers blood sugar bymimicking insulin and improving the cells’sensitivity to insulin. Vanadium compounds, mostnotably vanadyl sulfate, consistently improvefasting glucose and other measures of diabetes.

Vitamins

B-Vitamins: Most of the B-vitaminswill be washed out due to poly-uria. So you have to add thevitamins B-1, B-6, B-12.

Vitamin D: There is evidencethat vitamin D is essential forthe islet cells in the pancreas to beable to secrete insulin properly.

A study has shown that individualswith the lowest vitamin D levelsexperienced the worst blood sugar-handling problems and had a greater riskof developing diabetes.

It is recommended to give at least thosepeople with the greatest risk of developingvitamin D deficiency, including theelderly who are either institutionalizedor staying indoors, up to 800 IU/dayvitamin D3 supplements.

Vitamin A: Researchers havefound that the diabetic is unable toconvert carotene into vitamin A. It is advisabletherefore for the diabetic to ingest vitamin A from

a non-carotene source such as fish-liver oil.Other Vitamins: Also recommended is

a vitamin E supplement and a vitamin Csupplement to help prevent small vessel-disease of the extremities.

Homeopathy

Many homeopathic remedies have beenapplied to the treatment of diabetes melli-tus. The specific way of homeopathy is, how-ever, to treat YOU, and not just your disease.

Gymnema sylvestre: This plant is found inthe tropical forests of India. It is used to lowerblood sugar and help repair damage topancreatic cells.

Bitter melon: Is a mixture of severalcompounds with confirmed antidiabetic

properties. Charantin seems to be the keyingredient and is said to be more effective thanthe often used synthetic drug Tolbutamide.

Onion and Garlic: The common bulbs, onionand garlic, have significant blood sugar-loweringaction as well as lowering lipids, inhibitingplatelet aggregation, and reducing blood pressure.

Salt Bush: Rich in fibre, protein, and numeroustrace minerals, including chromium. Studies inIsrael have demonstrated improved bloodglucose regulation and glucose tolerance inType 2 diabetes.

Ginkgo biloba: Gingko biloba extract improvesblood flow in the peripheral tissues and it hasalso been shown to prevent diabetic retinopathy.

Ginseng: Ginseng could show reducingfasting blood sugar levels.
