Interdisciplinary School of Health Sciences (ISHS) of Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) is a
pioneering school of public health involved in capacity building in health research. The ISHS-SPPU
announces a unique Winter School on transdisciplinary research for integrative health.
The participants will gain insights to strengthen research capability by integrating knowledge
from traditional and modern medical systems. The Fellowship awards for this program are
offered under grant received from Department of Health Research (DHR), Ministry of Health and
Family Welfare, Government of India.
HIGHLIGHTS OF WINTER SCHOOL
§ An intense one month residential training program in Pune
§ Distinct blend of modern and traditional medicine systems for AYUSH research.
§ Eight additional credits for the fellowship program being offered by SPPU
§ Additional sessions on Grant Writing, Scientic writing and Publication Ethics
§ Innovative learning methods including classroom sessions, lab exposure, group discussions, master classes and group activities
§ Opportunity for close interactions with eminent Vaidya, scientists and scholars
§ Cross-talk opportunities for new collaboration and networking
Eligibility: Full time Faculty from recognized Health Sciences Universities / Medical Colleges/ Research Institutions. Master’s degree in any branch of medicine/ dentistry/ AYUSH disciplines. Candidates below the age of 50 with PhD / research experience will be preferred.
Fellowship: The selected 15 teachers will be awarded DHR fellowship, which will include tuition fees, training material, food, accommodation at guest house and travel support (bus or second AC train fare). The award will cover the expenses amounting to 60000 – 70000 per participant. The participants can earn academic credits and a Certicate of Fellowship from SPPU.
Application: Interested candidates should email application to [email protected] with (i) Recommendation from head of the institution with assurance for grant of suitable leave, if selected (ii) Statement of Purpose(SOP), (iii) Short CV with publications.
Last date to apply: October 5, 2018.
Selection process : Selection of Fellows will be based on academic merit and SOP. The short-listed applicants may be invited for online interview before nal selection.
