Suggestions from Focus Group One
Infrared FeatureThis feature will allow SWAT and Special Operation units to spot cameras when pursuing suspects within a given area. It will help to keep personnel safe.
Auto-FocusThis is a great feature which all participants thought was an asset for field use. Being that many operations take place in moving vehicles and/or boats auto focus allows law enforcement to always keep their eyes on the target.
Water proofParticipants were concerned with the water resistance feature of the binoculars as they are to be used under different circumstances under which they will be exposed to water. They were told that they are water resistant not waterproof. This is a feature which may need to be reevaluated in future models.

Laser Range Finding FeatureAnother feature which SWAT team members thought would be a great addition is the Laser Range Finding which will allow them to identify the distances at which suspects are in relation to their given location.

Cache RecordingParticipants stated that with 10-15 seconds of cache recording they will be able to capture a deal or transaction which they would otherwise have missed. This feature will help to collect evidence which can prove to be extremely beneficial in court.

Weight and Size Participants were also very impressed with the light
weight and the compact size of the unit. They stated that a regular camera without half the features that the DEV-5K is bigger and/or heavier.
Video Recording/Photo capability The ability of the binoculars to be used as a video
camera, photo camera, as well as binoculars allows them to replace three items with just one piece of equipment. This allows them to have just one piece of equipment as well as to save money on having to buy these three products.

Suggestions from Focus Group #2
Zoom They like the current zoom of 20X but would
prefer increased zoom as the main issue in conducting surveillance is getting close to targets.
Microphone In private investigation as different from
surveillance having a microphone is crucial as they always narrate everything as events occur opposed to law enforcement.

Potential Sales Channels Governments within Latin America
Such as: Colombia, Mexico, and Central America. U.S. General Services Administration (GSA)
According to Mr. Perry being that many Latin American countries work with U.S. Funds being on the GSA list would help to enter markets as it is easier to buy products through the U.S. government once they are approved on the GSA list.

Conclusion
After participating in the two focus groups it is clear that the DEV-5k has a large potential market within Latin America in both law enforcement and the civilian sectors. Since the binoculars are the first in their kind with digital recording capability, photo shooting, binocular viewing and all the same time, it does the DEV-5k a most have high end product for Law Enforcement personnel.
Civilian implementations can be seen for Private Investigation and surveillance.
Law enforcement and military uses for binoculars have been seen throughout these focus groups.
Despite having many uses the two focus groups named several attributes which if added would make them a well rounded solution for potential uses.
