dear friends,  it is with our deepest regret that we follow the tragedy that has hit your country in such an unforeseeable and tragic manner. In recent years, we have developed strong interactions between the Japanese and the German Societies for Immunology, and we have experienced marvellous bilateral meetings in Japan and Germany. We stand with you in these days of deep sorrow and tragic developments, and we do hope that Japan will overcome this disaster, building on the economical strength of the country and the strong and positive mentality of its people. If we, in person, or our society can be of any help right now, please let us know.  From here, we cannot really judge the situation, and what kind of support would be helpful.
