54-1003M WORD.BECAME.FLESH (265): And I recognized the other day, a selfish spirit coming up in me of saying, "This man's wrong. I ought to tell him about it." That's wrong. God's the One to tell him about it. It's none of my business. But my business is preach the Gospel and love everybody, and move on and love my enemies, as Jesus Christ loved me when I was His enemy. That's right. When I was unlovely, He loved me to His bosom. And anybody that's unlovely, let me love them the same.

55-0724 ENTICING.SPIRITS (90): Amongst a lot of people we find, where emotions and so forth, there becomes tattlings, and backbitings, and all kind of ungodly things. Brother, that's sulfuric acid in the church; it's demon power. Spirit of men and women who get among one another and try to push off and say, "This one's not right, and this one's not right, and that's not right." If you'll chase it down, nine times out of ten, it's the very person making the stir that's not right. Amen. God hates discord among brethren.

56-0917 THE.LAMB.AND.THE.DOVE (E-12): Why can't we have the type of meetings we used to have in our church? Just become sheep. The Dove's setting on the roost, ready to come back to the heart again, if you'll become sheep. He's still the same Dove, but you have to be a sheep. You can't snort, and fuss, and grumble, and backbite, and everything else, and expect Him to stay there. He won't do it. You have to have the nature like He's got, and then He will abide.

63-0728 CHRIST.IS.THE.MYSTERY (86): If the brother, you think he's a little wrong, or the sister, say, "Lord, don't let me never have the root of bitterness spring up, 'cause it'll affect him, and it'll take the Christ right out of my life." That poison acids of malice, and jealousy, and hatred, that will just take the Holy Spirit right away from you. It will run Him from the tabernacle here. It'll kill the Spirit of God, or drive It away from here, hurt you pastor. It'll do everything. See? Don't you do that.

Threefold test of how far I may use things lawful:

1. Will it advance my spiritual progress (is it expedient?)

2. Test of authority – does it control me or do I control it? (Is your liberty actually bringing you into bondage to that which is lawful)?

3. How does it affect others – does it edify?

1Cor.10:23-24 All things are lawful for me, but not all things are helpful; all things are lawful for me, but not all things edify. Let no one seek his own, but each one the other's well-being.
