Background

NNN, NNK, NAT and NAB, commonly referred as tobacco specific

nitrosamines (TSNAs) are listed as harmful and potentially harmful

constituents (HPHCs) in tobacco and tobacco smoke.

NNN → N'-nitrosonornicotine, NNK → (4-methylnitrosamino)-1-(3-pyridyl)-1-butanone,

NAB → N'-nitrosoanabasine and NAT → N-nitrosoanatabine
