First things firstRegister now to stay protectedRegistration is a vital part of your AVG protection. If you don’t register, we can’t keep your protection updated against the latest threats.

You’ll also miss out on:

Staying updated is importantIt’s no secret that online threats are increasing by the day, which is why your license includes free daily updates, to provide you with the highest level of protection. Our research teams around the world are constantly analyzing new threats and creating ways to detect and defeat them.

Don’t worry, we’ll automatically update your protection whenever it’s required. You don’t have to lift a finger.

How to registerVisit www.avg.com/register and enter your unique Sales or License Number.

You can find this either on a sticker attached to the outside of the package your software came in or on the registration card inside your box.

You can then complete the registration online and get your License Number before you start the installation process.

Important – getting startedBefore beginning the installation process, you need to uninstall any previous AVG protection or any other antivirus software you may have on your PC.

Additional antivirus products do not mean additional protection – they mean additional problems from software conflicts.

Uninstalling previous AVG installations is easy; simply follow the uninstall guidelines on the AVG tab in the Windows Start menu.

When you restart your PC, ensure that the small AVG icon is no longer in the system tray in the bottom-right corner of your screen (next to the clock). To uninstall any other products, simply follow their guidelines.

How to install AVGInsert the AVG installation disk into your computer’s DVD drive. The installation program should start automatically.

After accepting the End User License Agreement on the first screen of the installation process, you will see an option to select an installation type. We recommend you choose Express Install and then click Next.

Enter your unique Sales or License Number. You will find this number on a sticker attached to the outside of the package your software came in or on the registration card inside your box. Copy the number carefully.

Once the product installation completes and the product is ready to use, the software will activate your license automatically.

Register your software in order to keep your protection up-to-date.

TroubleshootingWhat if the installation does not start automatically?

Click on the My Computer icon on your Desktop or on My Computer in the Start Menu.

Double-click on the DVD drive icon. This will display the names of all the files on the disk.

Open the folder named \Win\Client.

Double-click on the executable (.exe) installation file. The file with “x86” in its name is for 32-bit operating systems and the file with “x64” in its name is for 64-bit operating systems. If you are unsure which installation file you should use, click on the Windows Start Menu and search for System Information. Open the System Information component and you will see your system type in the System Type section.

Follow the on-screen instructions until installation is complete.

Get your AVG remotely installed & set up for you The easiest way to get up and running is to have one of our experts remotely install your software for you. For a small fee, one of our experts will securely and remotely connect to your computer. They can remove any old antivirus software you may have, install your AVG software and correctly set it up. Getting helpMost of the time, you won’t even know AVG is there, but if you do find that you need help or support, here’s how you can get it.

Your user guideThe full user manual is provided in pdf form on your AVG DVD. To access it, simply pop the DVD into your computer and select the manual from the files displayed. You need Adobe Reader installed to read the pdf. If you do not have Adobe Reader installed on your computer, you can download it free of charge at www.adobe.com/readers.

Online supportIf you’ve registered your software with AVG, you can access our Customer Services team directly through your AVG interface. Just open the Help menu and click on Get Help Online. You’ll be taken directly to the support area of our website. Alternatively you can visit the support area of our website directly at www.avg.com/customer-support. There, you can browse our knowledgebase, access documentation and helpful videos, or submit a question directly to our team of experts.

Customer ServicesIf you need to contact the Customer Services team, you can also do this at www.avg.com/customer-support. Note that you will need to provide your registered email address or your License Number which you can copy and paste directly from your AVG software into the Customer Services request form. To locate your license number, open the AVG user interface / Click on the Support button at the top right hand corner of the AVG program / The support box will appear and the Support Tab will be opened by default / Click on ‘copy to clipboard’ / Paste license number into form. Online Customer Services is freely available to all registered AVG AntiVirus customers at any time during the term of your license.
